I stayed at this hotel in February 2009 and again in February 2010. As other reviews have mentioned the location is just perfect, right next door to grand central station, its so easy to get from the airport just jump on one of the many buses or trains that leave directly from the airport there's no need to hire private... Situated right next to Grand Central and the Chysler building, this could not be a better location for exploring New York. Easy walk to Time Square and most theatres and Empire State Building, Subway or walk to Central Park. We even walked down to the Statten Island Ferry from the hotel but subway or Taxi may be better ! Huge hotel. They were filming in front of the hotel, so I got a glimpse of Denzel Washington. It's a great location right by Grand Central Terminal, and Bryant Park, which is minutes away from Times Square.

We chose the hotel because its great location, just next door to the Grand Central station. The room we got was smaller than what we had in other Hyatt's but our local friend said it's big per NY standard. The lobby was large and opulent. Service people were helpful and courteous. We did not look closely under the bed or... More

I arrived at the Grand Hyatt having read the hotel had a bed bug problem. Upon entering my room I checked the mattress to discover enough hair and stranged debris to call house keeping. I was moved to another room where I checked again and founf toenails and more hair under the mattress in addition to starnge brown staining on... More

I stayed at the Hyatt on business during February. The rooms are a reasonable size, but a bit spartan, but perfectly adequate providing you are not expecting luxury. There are a couple of negatives :the bath is so shallow that it is virtually impossible to immerse more than half of your body and no mini-bar. The latter point irritated me... More

I rolled the dice and won big time when my bid got accepted on Priceline for the Grand Hyatt. I entered $120 for a 4-star hotel near Times Square, and was pleasantly surprised that I was saving approximately half off! I did not have a single problem during my stay here ... from the time I called ahead to request... More

Brilliant hotel, great location you literally on top of Grand Central Station, If you have been to New York before then you will know how good that is. If not stay here, we stayed in July with great weather so walking was great. Taxis are just a rip off, get the tube to the airport if you have small bags... More

We had never vacationed at a Hyatt before. We were so pleasantly surprised. The registration person was extremely friendly, helpful and so our vacation began on a perfect note. The room was very nice with a view of the surrounding skyscrapers. The hotel location was really great for us as it was next door to Grand Central station. The subway... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
