This is a decent hotel that has been updated to improve its physical space. The Regency Club is larger with an indoor and outdoor area and with even a better selection of food throughout the day. As a Diamond Club member, I was surprised to receive a pretty mundane room rather than an upgrade, and it was also a distance... More

Dear TuffNFair, Feedback from a Diamond Club member such as yourself is extremely valuable to us. The response form you filled out goes directly to upper management and our corporate team, who take great care in hearing our guest concerns and implementing change for the better. It is never ideal if we are fully booked and cannot acknowledge a Diamond... More

The first time, I had no complaints. Although the first time I was satisfied, I got robbed 30 dollars. I left $50 on a table in my room and they took it. I'll let you now how I made out at the front desk.

I have stayed here innumerable times over the last few decades and as always....it is average (and never seems to move the needle to "good"). The rooms have been updated and that was a real plus. I had a room in the back (highly recommend as no matter how high up you are, the noise from 42nd st will find... More

Dear Temboblue, As a frequent guest, we are disappointed that your experiences have not quite managed to exceed your expectations. The rooms on our higher floors are typically known for their quiet, so it is highly regrettable that our staff may have disturbed you. Please know that we have made note of this issue, as well as your thoughts regarding... More

The Grand Hyatt New York on 42nd Street will remain at the top of my list for when I return to New York. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The 24/7 fitness has plenty of equipment and there is equipment always available for us. I really enjoyed my workout on a snowy day inside the Grand Hyatt fitness center.... More

The lobby area is really busy. My floor (31) was quiet. The room was a bit small, maybe a suite would of suffice. I shared the room with two other people and had two double beds. The room temp was still a bit chilly even though the thermometer read 80 degrees . Guess because it was -10 below zero outside.... More

This is a beautiful and modern hotel in the heart of the city. Centrally located (it's attached to Grand Central Station, after all), it offers excellent service and well kept rooms. The only drawback is the expensive, daily Wi-Fi rate. It is definitely not a budget hotel but it offers the odd deal during the off season.

We stayed for 3 nights in an upgraded room on 33rd floor. Room was clean, spacious, very comfortable bed, powerful (yet small) shower. Champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries for us too! Only disappointment was that there's no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Moments away from 5th avenue and attached to grand central station make it a great location.

This hotel is located in Midtown, next to the Central Station - which make it easier to move in Manhattan. The room was really comfortable, delicious room service and we were always served with politeness. The only problem I had was a party in the next room (and I had a flight to catch the next morning) but the manager... More

These rooms are big and cheap by New York standards. They could also use some refreshing as the years of wear and tear are visible in some areas. I'm not sure why they chose touch light switches rather than tried and true flip switches- we had to touch over and over and over to get a light to turn on.... More

The hotel stay was OK, but a little disappointing from a business point of view. I was there for a three day conference. The great parts included the audio visual that accompanied the speakers. It was easy to hear and see things. The seats were comfortable, and the room was a decent temperature. Coffee and snacks were only offered in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
