The hotel is in an amazing location. Everything works well but it does get very busy in the public area's. Don't expect fast service at peek times, we waiting 30 for drinks to arrive in the bar and quite a time at check in. We had premium rooms but they were small and distinctly functional. I could not say this... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Grand Hyatt, NYC. I'll start by saying I am a fan of the brand and usually this hotel. We stayed over Easter weekend for a romantic getaway and to take in the Yankee game on opening day. The room location was less than desirable. The 31st floor is great but we were next... More

We stayed here for 5 nights. Best location in Manhattan for sightseeing, shopping, eating, walking distance to many of New Yorks finest attractions! The hotel is beautiful has everything you need, very accomedating. Grand Central Station adjacent to hotel, making transportation an ease. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Great hotel! Thank you!

Directly above Grand Central on 42nd street, right on a metro line, the Grand Hyatt is in a superb location for exploring Manhattan. Rooms are comfortable with good beds, a decent bathroom, and a good-sized TV, and by New York standards are surprisingly spacious for the money. Even more astonishingly, there is free Wi-Fi in the guest rooms. That's not... More

Our Favorite New York City Hotel. Best location for restaurants and sightseeing. Grocery store, shopping close by, walking distance to Times Square. My Gold Passport membership was recognized and got me a few perks. We enjoy this hotel and will probably return next year.

The location of the hotel is perfect, on 42nd street closed to 5th avenue, Bryant park and time square (10 min walk or 3 min with the S metro line which is comp). I love the neighborhood and think it is a great location to discover New York on business or for leisure. I was expecting a high level of... More

Stayed for 5 days of sight-seeing with a tour group. This renovated property is conveniently adjacent to Grand Central Terminal, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The hotel has a handy (if pricey) 24/7 snack facility in the lobby, plus an attractive restaurant, but the food concourse of Grand Central Terminal (plus and upscale market) is easily accessed for less... Upgraded our room at discount as there were many cancellations due to snow. Simple, clean, spacious room, good view. Upgrade meant we had access to lounge with excellent breakfast, tea/coffee and snacks at any time. Large and impersonal hotel, but reception staff helpful with advice on subway, directions etc. and lounge staff friendly and hardworking.

Right from the moment we arrived we were treated with a huge smile and great conversation from the receptionist. The room was a good size, very clean, and on an upper floor with a view of the Chrysler Building. They even sent up a bottle of sparkling due to it being out 10 year anniversary. The hotel is right on... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
