Everything about this hotel impressed me. The staff were efficient yet never intrusive. The service was friendly and courteous. The location is perfect-within walking distance of lots of New York's 'must sees'. Being beside Central station made any travelling so easy. We were afraid of getting caught in traffic on our return to JFK so decided to take the underground... More

I haven't stay at this hotel yet. I have just booked it a week ago. They had a special rate of 199 per night - part of their NYC sale - non-refundable, payable up-front. I've booked two rooms for a total of 399. They sent me a confirmation email showing 399. Few days later I checked the charge on my... More

I love Hyatt in general, but the Grand Hyatt in NYC is one of my favorites. It is a bustling hotel right in the heart of the city and as we all know, location is everything. The staff is super friendly and are truly knowledgeable about their city. The rooms are small, but very well appointed. Grand Central Station is... More

The Grand Hyatt New York is a near perfect hotel. Friendly staff, large rooms, a wonderful Grand Club with complimentary breakfast and snacks, and a prime location that basically dead center of everything in Manhattan. Times Square, Central Park, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty - you name it. The Grand Hyatt is within about 2-3 miles of all of... More

The hotel is right next to Grand Central Station! You can rent bikes off the rack, just around the corner, and there is a terrific eatery right across from the hotel. Just be aware that the homeless take up camp right outside the hotel, along with the Grayline Representatives. Just ignore them and get your tickets inside. Rooms are small,... More

I spent three night here. I understand that New York is not a cheap city but it supposed to be some limits in "cutting" the expenses especially in a hotel with such name. Not even a bottle of complementary water as well as no simple things like shower cup or toothbrush. Despite the prize is about 300 USD/night the room... More

The hotel is located above Grand Central station and subway lines making it very convenient to transportation. It's about a five block walk to the Broadway shows. The rooms are very nice and updated and not as cramped as other typical rooms in NYC. Would highly recommend overall.

We recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt for several days to celebrate a special birthday. We have NEVER had such excellent service and smiles! This hotel far exceeded our expectations! The front desk personnel was exceptional. They all said, "my pleasure" everytime we thanked them for ANYTHING!

Great hotel, its proximity to Grand Central station is perfect, just a stone's throw from the hotel. It's New York, so it's definitely in the heart of things, i.e. restaurants, shopping, museums, etc.. Time Square, not to far away either. Bring your comfy shoes as this is a walking city. I was there for business, upon arrival the front desk... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
