This hotel has a buzzy lobby area but my room was disappointing in terms of cleanliness, decor (v old), and facilities. No drinking, water, tea or coffee facilities (so you need to go at least 24 floors down to get a drink), bathroom offered old towels, little shampoo and a bar of soap only. I also stayed in low budget... More

Excellent location & wonderful staff -- kudos to you! The room was small w/tiny bathroom "King View" -- looked into an office. Request a high floor away from construction (Feb '16) if you're noise sensitive. Get coffee & drinks/food ahead of time -- no mini-bar or water in room. Plenty of great options & shops in Grand Central Station -... More

The location of the hotel is perfect (just in the Grand Central subway station, walking distance to Bryant Park, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, and even Central Park). Elevators are sometimes a problem since hotel is to busy.

The Grand Hyatt is located well in Manhattan. Design of the entrance hall and club lounge are nice. The rooms and furniture are quite worn-out and cleaning service has potential for improvement. Size of the rooms and price is acceptable considering the location. Service quality is fair and check-in/check-out efficient. Overall, it cannot be hidden from guest experience that this... More

Great location in midtown, attached to Grand Central makes this a great option for a vacation or business stay. If you can get access to the club, the snacks and morning breakfast are a huge bonus for a family trip.

This is a mixed review. I had to laugh at the reference to "grand" as it's not really what you think of for this hotel. Checkin seemed friendly as was the gentlemen who delivered us to the room which was on the larger side for NYC with a sitting couch and table you could dine at (with our toddler). Then... More

We had a lovely time at the Grand Hyatt. Room was large and the location was next door to Grand Central Station. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great hotel for a short stay in the Big Apple .

Fantastic hotel, great location! Do not have a single bad thing to say about the place! We stayed in a deluxe King room and it was beautiful! Sitting area, a huge comfy bed and lots of space! Very clean and modern, would definitely recommend and will visit again soon!

We stayed here for a special occasion and unfortunately our experience here put a damper on things. Our main reason for staying was the hotel's proximity to Grand Central. I'd rather stay anywhere, but here in the future. At check in, we encountered a problem with our payment. The surly staff member that we dealt with made no attempt to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
