This hotel is definitely in a good location. Service was average , rooms were decent, spacious which was surprising considering we are in New York. We stayed for 4 days and I thought the rates were reasonable until I saw my bill when i got home, I got charged $180.00 more than I signed for. I tried contacting the manager... More

This is a big hotel. Grand entrance with extremely cool statues. The staff were very good, and the rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The location is ideal being next to Grand Central Terminal, which can get you anywhere on the subway to downtown or across to Times Square on the shuttle. Apart from that I would really have... Not my first stay here, Place is still huge. well located etc. Stayed on the 18th floor which was quiet. On a previous stay I ticked off the front office, and got a reply from the management asking me to tell them next time I was staying. Didn't do so, and as I Iike to be fair, I should a... More

The location of this hotel is very convenient and you can enter right from Grand Central. The rooms are small, but typical for a NYC hotel. My room was also clean. However, in this day and age, a hotel room without a coffee maker is just silly. You make me go downstairs and PAY for coffee. There are better places... More

Hotel is very good - our room was spacious, clean and with plenty hanging space. All staff were very friendly and always greeted us as we passed. No coffee / tea facilities in room as is often the case in USA - but there is a small take away coffee shop near reception. Our only problem, as old codgers, was... More

This hotel is not what I expected it to be. My stays at other Hyatt hotels have been enjoyable, at the Grand Hyatt New York I felt I was staying in a tourist hotel of London or Paris. The bathrooms are very small, the shower did not drain well, the shade was broken, and the hallway was dark.

The hotel is well located if you need to stay in mid-town. However, perhaps due to its close proximity to the wonderful Grand Central Station, the vicinity is a bit seedy. As to the hotel, the rooms are tired and need in renovation (chipped paintwork, damaged furniture, not particularly clean), the bathrooms are very small (2m by 2m including the... More

Dear freetogotravel, Thank you for your review and for being a loyal guest of more than ten stays. Our location is great for exploring Midtown. If you ever feel uncomfortable around Grand Central Station at night, our staff will be more than happy to point you toward more populated areas of the city. Our comfortable beds and quiet rooms make... More

My husband had stayed at this hotel before however this was my first visit. We have stayed at many Hyatt hotels and this one is up to par however for a king size room it seemed pretty small. The location is great if you plan to use the subway, it is actually attached to Grand Central Station. All in all... More

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights during Easter weekend. The location cannot be beat. Within walking distance to everything!!! And if not, Grand Central Station is next door so hop on a subway and go! The staff is very well trained and a pleasure to deal with. Breakfast at their restaurant was delicious and the service very good!... More

This was our first stay at Grand Hyatt in NYC our normal choice of hotel is The Waldorf but as we were travelling with our 10 year old twins we thought this looked a more appropriate hotel. We booked it through British Airways holiday and paid a supplement for the Club Room with access to the Club Room. Prior to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
