Took train into city to celebrate my birthday with a girlfriend. Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Great location - close to everything, and so easy to get to from train. When Lauren at the front desk found out it was my birthday, she upgraded us to the presidential suite. Wow, what a room. It was Huge with lots... More

Fantastic hotel, very central to everything, 5th Ave, Times Sq, easy access downtown to Wall St. Comfortable clean and well serviced hotel. The breakfasts were huge and quality was outstanding. Friendly helpful staff. The room was spacious and well laid out. Great idea to have all lighting and air con controls at your bedside table.

I've stayed at this hotel on many occasions mainly because of its proximity to many attractions. I love that I could walk right outside the hotel and be within steps of the Grand Central Terminal. The hotel is well above average, clean, has a great restaurant/bar with views of busy 42nd and one can easily walk to many popular NY... More

One thing expects or hopes for in a hotel stay is a good bed. Sadly the Grand Hyatt falls well short on this front . Bed was springy and not well supported. Hotel was fully booked upon arrival and staff struggled to deal with the lineup. Location is perfect and conference facilities are very well done

Nothing fancy and nothing to complain about either. Location is fantastic, being right beside Grand Central. Conference facilities are quite good. This is a huge property and can manage many break out rooms etc. hotel room is small and efficient. A bit dated and nothing too fancy. But adequate.

Was impressed by the location of the hotel in proximity to Grand Central Station - Hotel had own entrance. We flew in from California direct and arrived int he lobby at 7:30 AM. Due to check in times and that they had been booked solid the night before, they were not able to check us in right away. However, they... More

Went to NYC to celebrate my retirement and our daughter's 21st birthday. Chose the Grand Hyatt on location and personal recommendation from friends who had stayed there previously. We were not at all disappointed - the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly & our rooms were a good size and well-maintained. We asked for rooms on the quieter side away... More

Okay, my company is paying a $319 CONFERENCE RATE. We should be getting more value for our money. There are tons of loud teens and 20 somethings in the hallways at 11pm and midnight while I am trying to get sleep before business meetings tomorrow. The bathroom floor and sink were not clean. I can hear the people in the... More

This hotel was a giant disappointment From the lack of a bell hop in the rain to the fact that my room had no linens and housekeeping evidently was not working the night I was there , they never answered my calls or even the calls from the front desk Front desk also had issues at times , in the... The Grand Hyatt has a great location for walking to see many things, or grabbing the trains to everything else. It is in a good neighborhood, with many attractions. The lobby is bustling with activity, and feels fun, but small. It is modern, and upscale, but not ultramodern. The décor in the hallways and rooms is trendy, but not opulent.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
