Having stayed at a Grand Hyatt in Dallas last fall, I was really looking forward to our stay at the Grand Hyatt - Grand Central Terminal in NYC. But I came away from that visit feeling very disappointed. First, the pros (there are two): the room (though described as one of their smaller rooms by the front desk clerk) was... More

The hotel was amazing from their staff who work front of house to the maintenace and the resteraunt. They were friendly and accomodating. The rooms & hotel were clean and comfortable. The location seemed to be perfect. We managed to walk to Empire State, Rockerfella, Times Square. Only time we really needed transport was for Liberty and Yankee Stadium and... More

this hotel is good since it is walkable distance from most places of interest. the hotel is old and needs maintenance in some places. service levels are acceptable but not exceptional especially when compared to the service levels in India

The Grand Hyatt is located adjacent to Grand Central Station- you can walk into the entrance without going outside. Everything could not have been smoother from check in thru check out. The rooms and lobby are beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Times Square is one subway stop away.

The rooms are small but we are talking about NYC. The rooms are clean but nothing spectacular. What this property has going for it is location. Right above Grand Central. You can depart from and to the airport close from the hotel. Restaurants and shopping close by too.

I got a great deal on my room, $300/night, which is a bargain given the location right across from Grand Central. I figured the room would be like a lot of NYC hotels where it is small, old, and not that nice by today's standards - au contraire, mon frere! I was really pleased with the rooms, they are definitely... More

This hotel has a buzzy lobby area but my room was disappointing in terms of cleanliness, decor (v old), and facilities. No drinking, water, tea or coffee facilities (so you need to go at least 24 floors down to get a drink), bathroom offered old towels, little shampoo and a bar of soap only. I also stayed in low budget... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
