I'm a Hyatt Platinum member who always stays in Hyatt Hotels for business and pleasure. I've stayed in plenty of Hyatts and Andaz's and this current stay (we're still here!) has been my worst. We're on a family holiday from Australia and arrived at 2am this morning after 26 hours on the road with an 8 yo and10 yo. When... More

We checked in on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 pm...it was a zoo!! I was trying to find the premier guest check in, but when I asked a lady at the screens near concierge where it was, she rudely pointed me to the line of about 12 people...FORTUNATELY, an agent came from the Premier desk to check me in there!... The location of the Grand Hyatt was perfect for a first trip to NYC. However, the service of the hotel was very extremely average. I was incredibly disappointed by being allocated the wrong room upon check in and was forced to speak to multiple members of management before finally getting the room changed to exactly what I had booked online.... I stayed at the Grand Hyatt with my friends during the Thanksgiving break from our universities. We flown in from all over the states to meet up in NYC and The Grand Hyatt provided us a lot of advantageous opportunities. Starting with its well known name so a cab ride back to the hotel was so simple. Not to say... More

I stay at the Grand Hyatt several times a year and its management needs to get its act together -- hotel service is becoming unacceptable. A few examples: it took an hour and 15 minutes to get a room service sandwich at 8:30 p.m. on a weeknight. At the otherwise very nice market on the first floor, the staff was... More

With company office in Lincoln Building across the street, the hotel was my first choice. Particularly, with my experiences with the Hyatt Group, Hyatt is well known for foods served in their restaurants. In the morning, it did get busy catching the elevators.

Location, location, location is the key to this hotel. Connected to Grand Central and walking distance to everything. The hotel is beautiful but the rooms are very small. For the price you sort of expect more. Of course clean and comfortable and great fitness center. Nice bar area on the lobby level. Service is good. But again, they key here... More

We stayed here 2 nights in December. Had a regular room with 2 double beds on the 30th floor with a view of buildings. The location was great, just a mile from everything we wanted to do at Christmastime -- Rockettes, Lord & Taylor and Saks, theater district. The room was small, which is to be expected in NYC. Very... More

The Grand Hyatt is actually a rather good hotel. There was a long check-in time (I was about 7 people deep in line) at 5pm in the evening. The Front Desk was very accommodating though and friendly. I was in an upgraded room with a king bed and high floor. I received free drink coupons at their cafe. The room... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
