Having lived in NYC for some time, i never thought i would stay at this hotel upon my return. However what i've learned is that it's the best location in the city logistically for getting uptown, downtown, cross town, especially if you understand the subway system. Hotel runs along 4-5-6 green line, you can take shuttle to red line 1-2-3... More

This hotel is located directly over Grand Central Station and is only a twenty or so minute walk to the theater district. We also took the subway directly from the hotel to Times Square (a kind of subway shuttle service). The beds are typical Hyatt beds, very comfortable. I was upgraded but the layout of the junior suite was awkward... More

Stayed here for 7 nights and had a great time. Reception always seemed to be busy with long queues but the staff were helpful, professional, pleasant and friendly. The room was a good size for a hotel in a major city. Immaculately clean, comfortable and having all the amenities one could ask for. The location of this hotel is great.... More

i got two free nights at a Hyatt through their credit card offer, so I was expecting to get a ghetto room, even though it was a nice hotel. They gave me a great room, King bed, sofa bed, great bathroom, fridge. All good. The staff gave me some free coffee vouchers and some bottled water on arrival and were... More

This was a surprisingly bad hotel. Giving it two stars because staff is friendly. Room, as to be expected, is small. However other NY hotels are much more creative with this lack of space. The bathroom is ridiculously small and the sink is tiny. That would be okay except there is a shelf that partially covers a crucial couple inches... More

Dear Frabika, Thank you for your review. As frequent travelers to New York, we are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay. Our guest rooms, while on average slightly larger than most New York hotel rooms, feature different layouts. We would be more than happy to either relocate you pending availability, or to discuss with you prior to arrival... More

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt New York for a conference and had a miserable experience. The pros: The location is nice; there's a tunnel that connects the hotel to Grand Central. The desk staff was pleasant (and after my terrible stay, apologetic). The rooms are a decent size (especially for New York). There is a marketplace that serves food... More

Nothing of special... Normal room, clean, but with ugly view... Polite staff.. Crazy lifts... Over-crowded lobby.... What else.... I think 285$ per night should give more and more, in NY city or wherever one person books an hotel.

Dear Marco C, We appreciate the chance to hear your thoughts on your recent stay. While we are pleased to hear our staff was polite, we are disappointed that you did not enjoy your overall stay. Given the amenities that we offer, such as our fitness center, dining spaces, and location next to Grand Central Terminal, we try to ensure... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt after getting married at the city clerk's office. We decided we would do a mini honeymoon weekend until we do our big celebration next year in Mexico, so we chose the Grand Hyatt. Since we are both from New York, we selected the Grand Hyatt because they had really good... More

I have stayed in many hotels in Manhattan at all different price ranges and for the mid range this hotel fell in it think it was fantastic. The convenience of being right in grand central and being able to come in on the train and be right there was perfect. The room was very spacious, huge bathroom with double sink... More

The fact that this hotel is actually connected to Grand Central Station is a huge plus. That means you have access to dozens of shops, restaurants, and a subway station without going outside, which is great when the weather is inclement, as it was during our visit. The hotel itself I found to be typical Hyatt--good room and a comfy... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
