We spent the night here in mid Jan and really enjoyed it. It's a great hotel connected to the Grand Central concourse. That by itself gives you access to the whole city. There are some very nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center and Times Square are all within minutes even on foot. The had a dance competition... More

My experience here started off terrible due to extremely thin walls, doors that are about 2 inches off the ground so you hear everything going on in the hallways, and people partying all night. This combination led to zero sleep and me needing to leave the hotel. I called Hyatt reservations and they were about to make me stay the... More

This hotel very much like every other large Manhattan hotel. Hundreds of people coming and going, service is good but impersonal. The rooms are a good size for New York. There is a 24 hour cafe in the lobby which is very good for those of us who work through the night catching time zones. I had to pay for... More

We stayed at the hotel pre and post cruise. Check in was great and we were surprised and delighted to be able to gain access to our rooms and also to get a late check out at no extra costs. The only negative is the bar area as drinks were expensive and the tables etc. could have been cleaner. I... More

I have given this hotel 3's & 4's, the location was great, the rooms nice and clean however they seriously need to realize that not all travellers are business people. The hotel has this cold clinical approach which I guess if the only clientelle were business people would be ok but that is not the case. I was on a... More

So I don't normally stay in big box hotels, but I was in NYC for a single night in January for a conference and had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hyatt NY. I was given an accessible room, which in all honesty is something I recommend asking for in NYC because the room was HUGE! The bed was... More

The only thing grand about Grand Hyatt is the Grand Lobby! The property felt cold and unwelcoming the moment you walk in. We had to leave our bags at the hotel as we went for a short trip to upstate New York and they charged us for 4 nights eventhough we actually left the bag on the night of the... More

Welcome to Grand Hyatt, where NOBODY wants to deal with you. The location of this place is great if you need access to the rail station (less than 4 minutes from room to boarding Metro North for me), but other than expect to pay for the name. This large, cold, ridiculous place feels insecure and completely unwelcoming. I had a... More

I have stayed in Hyatt regency, and visited different Grand Hyatt's and Park Hyatt throughout the world, and I thought staying in Grand Hyatt is not going to end up very badly. Well in a sense the room is pretty clean and the hotel is conveniently located just right next to the Grand Central terminal. However, check in staff was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
