my favourite part of New York is generally the amazing customer service. Well not at this hotel! Mr Lenny our check in contact explained they had no single queen or king rooms in the whole hotel even though that is what we booked and prepaid over a month ago and offered absolutely nothing else to make it better. Even suggested... More

The Hotel is right next to Grand Central Station in Midtown. In the lobby there is a shop which sells drinks, snacks, sandwiches ,pizzas and hot food and coffee to take to your room The restaurant was quite busy but we were in a quiet area when we had dinner. Nice menu it had just changed to the Spring menu,... More

Room was OK but weirdly furnished. Hallways were filled with empty dishes from room service. Very noisy from neighbors and street. Bathroom was very small but very updated. Bag check charged three dollars per bag which was unwarranted and should have been a courtesy.

Stayed for our 17th anniversary celebration and we were glad we did. Hotel renovations are fabulous. Location is great (adjacent to Grand Central Terminal). Cant say enough about how friendly and helpful the hotel staff was, which included them sending up a complimentary anniversary gift to our room. Room was ultra modern and spotless, I upgraded to club level which... More

Sitting on top of Grand Central Station makes the Grand Hyatt New York, one of the most convenient full service hotels in the city. Updated rooms and lobby decorations reminds me of what this property used to be proud of in the early 80's. The Grand Hyatt is what its name suggest, Grand

The hotel is located right next to Grand Central Terminal in NYC - good for trains, subways, taxis and buses. Convenient to lots of restaurants, museums, library and tourist sites. You enter right off 42nd street - VERY busy and crowded - the lobby has a giant stone head sculpture that is suppose to be calming or zen - it's... More

Dear BeachMax, Thank you for sharing a thorough review of your experience. We cannot improve without feedback from our valued guests, and yours is much appreciated. While it is an advantage for many of our guests to be situated so closely to Grand Central Terminal, we understand that it is not to everyone’s liking. We hope you still enjoyed the... More

The location of this hotel is very convenient with mid-town activities. Extremely close to grand central station, which is great for getting around the entire city. The hotel is very clean and quiet. I would recommend this hotel.

If you discount the entrance & foyer (hospital lighting, gloomy atmosphere) it's actually pretty good. You can walk to most things, transport to everything else is next door at a Grand Central (although alas not the Amtrak - it goes to Penn). There is a dining concourse at the station - the pizza was really good. There's even shopping attached... More

There was a little problem finding our reservation at first, but it was quickly cleared up. We were given bottled water while we waited for the problem to be corrected as well as coupons for coffee for both days we were there! It was my daughter's 21st birthday and there was a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries sent to... More

I had an exceptional stay at the Grand Hyatt NYC. Located next to Grand Central Station, it provides excellent service and it's location is perfect. The Grand Club offers terrific options for snacks and the 24/7 Market in the lobby assures that there is ALWAYS an opportunity to grab food or drink at a reasonable price.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
