So, this hotel has impressed me so much, I'm still here and felt a need to write this review about my stay thus far. I've stayed here in the past and have always had a pleasant experience. The service and staff members are very friendly and professional. From the bellman/doorman to the restaurant staff (because continental breakfast is included) so... More

On our second visit we came back to Blakely to stay overnight not because we went to Carnegie Hall, but as luck would have it, we were meeting with family for a celebratory dinner in a great restaurant just across the street. Our request for king size bed and high floor was honored. Our room was on the 12th floor... More

Even before we arrived for Spring Break week, the assistance from the hotel staff was wonderful, with arrangements for airport pick-up to answers on location of hotel to areas we wished to visit. Upon arriving, you are impressed by the cozy lobby, warm woods and a quaint sitting area. Our room was beautiful, you could close your eyes and think... More

The room we had was great big comfy bed large whirlpool type bath and powerful shower, we expected lots of noise as its New York however could hardly hear anything in the room. Couldn't complain at all. The staff were all friendly and helpful , the morning breakfast was plentyful. Just what we wanted.

My husband and I were treating our granddaughter to her first visit to NYC. We stayed at the Blakely for six nights. We were in room 1201. We only had street noise one time in the wee hours and it must have been the recycling truck because we heard lots of glass being dropped. The other nights the room was... More

My husband and I and our two boys (8 and 11) booked a family room, got upgraded to a junior suite on arrival. 5 night stay to do the sites of NYC. The blakely was superb. It's location was brilliant. A few blocks away from time square, 5th ave, Central park and the dining delights of Hell's Kitchen. Our room... More

General: After reading all the positive reviews I decided to book my first stay at this boutiqueish hotel. The location is excellent with easy access to Central Park and mid-town generally. The initial presentation is nice too, with a small lobby, but what you would expect given the footprint of the building. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The very... More

I agree with the reviewer who almost doesn't want to review this hotel for fear it will be overrun with visitors, BUT one has to point out excellence when one finds it. We have stayed here before, and The Blakely is our #1 choice. Staff is friendly & helpful with anything you need help with. No request is too trifling.... More

My wife and I have stayed at The Blakely New York numerous times (at least 25 times) and have never had any of the negative experiences that I've read in the reviews. As a matter of fact, we've recommended it to friends over the years and have not had one negative remark. In Feb 2015 we recommended the hotel to... More

This is a lovely small hotel, great location for theater and opera. Breakfast is included. Large, well lit room with lots of drawer space for clothes. Bathrobes, and no note about not getting clean towels or sheets! I hesitate to post this review on the off chance we cannot get a room on our next trip to NYC. There is... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
