I had reserved a deluxe king room which I received accordingly. The initial impression seemed fair, however, upon arriving to the room, we noticed the rooms didn't seem clean and didn't want to even take our shoes off. We also noticed there was a black burn mark in the bathroom tub and the first hallway light didn't even work. When... more

Went to NYC for first time on a girls trip. We stayed at the Flatotel. We got a double suite with a balcony. Good service and clean rooms. Not too sure about the rates since it was a gift- that's why I gave it a 3. But other than that it was a great stay and very convenient to everything.... more

we had booked a 3 room suite which turned out to be a 2 room suite and much smaller than advertised. The bathtub/shower did not work. completely clogged and although we complained at least twice daily they NEVER managed in the 8 days to fix it. The room was dirty with old hair lying in sink, blood on toilet, crumps... more

I stayed at the Flatotel for work in early June 2009. The hotel, while in a good spot in Midtown, needs some upgrading before it is ready for primetime. My room was huge, with a kitchen, separate bedroom, bathroom and a wonderful view. However, the furnitue and fixtures were old, the bathroom was grimy and needed to be cleaned, and... more

A friend and I stayed here for 6 nights this May after the hotel was recommended to us. When we entered the lobby area of the hotel I was surprised by how small it was as on previous trips to Manhattan I have been used to more grand lobbys. It was nicely decorated though, very modern but still comfortable. The... more

My review of Flatotel is mixed: It had glorious space with 1500 square feet for a 2 BR suite and 1100 sq. ft for 1 BR suite both with kitchens. That and the great Times Square location on 52nd & 7th Avenue and views from the 37th floor (very quiet) were wonderful but the arrival lounge was dark and unattractive.... more

Overall, Flatotel in NYC is a great value for the area. My husband and I were in walking distance of great restaurants and our Broadway show. The room's decor and cleanliness were excellent--surprisingly so. And the limited encoutners we had with the staff were all pleasant and helpful. We'd definitely go back for our next NYC trip, and we'd take... more

I read the reviews on tripadvisor, before I even booked. I read in one, that Quikbook.com had crazy low prices. So i checked, and TA DA!! I found this fabulously located hotel for only $140/night! That was an unbeatable price, especially for Midtown/Manhattan. So we arrive in Newark, cab fare was around $70 from EWR to Flatotel...was to be expected.... more

The trip was a gift from my boyfriend. It was supposed to be hassle free and romantic. This is not the place. Our stay was fine until we came back to our room after being out all day and my clothes in my suitcase were all wet with a substance that smelled like urine. The next day we were checking... more

My friend & I were travelling to NYC for the More magazine 1/2 Marathon April 26. We arrived Friday evening for a 3 night stay. After reading the mixed reviews, I was on pins & needles that we'd like it because I chose for the both of us. Upon arrival, check-in was a breeze, even though we weren't the only... more
