What a lovely spot to stay, surrounded by numerous restaurants, shops and places to visit. I highly recommend staying here. Though it is a bit pricey, its well worth having the convenience of being within minutes to all New Yorks sites and shops.

Several friends and I converged here for a long weekend (Friday through Sunday), two to a room. This being New York, the rooms are small and there is a fair amount of street noise. We were out most of the time and so never got a chance to feel cramped, but the room would have been a bit claustrophobic if... More

We were in NYC for the weekend for the Tribeca Film Festival and we stayed in 70 Park Ave. The hotel was right in the middle of Manhattan and minutes from Grand Central. The rooms were very small, as can be expected in New York, but very nicely decorated and furnished. The bed was very big and comfortable. The service... More

Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood (for NYC). This hotel is walking distance to the main tourist attractions and it's great cause you can walk down Park Avenue without either being pushed or having people pushing you to get thru. When we checked into our room we were greeted with an awful odor which smelt like nail polish (to my... More

Physically, this hotel is fine - well maintained, good location. What really set it apart was the memorable, attentive, and friendly service they provided. From the pre-arrival email to the bellman to check in through check out, it was class all the way. Personal communication from the Concierge (Sarah) was classy and a great way to settle in feeling like... More

Nice boutique-feel hotel in a prime midtown location. No place in NYC is expansive, but they do a great job maximizing what space they have. The room was very comfortable, and nicely appointed. Again, you're not in NYC to have a massive room, but the layout with the bathroom sort of around the corner in the room made it feel... More

I like the hotel that was off the hustle and bustle of most New York traffic. The deluxe king room was priced right and a very good value. The happy hour from 5 to 6 with free wine was enjoyable. I would recommend this place, give it a try. The Park AveTavern which is about a block away offers good... More

Fantastic location, lovely rooms, happy hour (free alcohol), friendly staff, free room upgrade, $60 voucher for birthday drinks from hotel, free wifi, lots of things to borrow if you have forgotten items (shaving foam, razors, curling tongs, sowing kit, iron plus many more), helpful and knowledgeable concierge. Only down side was our window was very drafty and when it was... More

Great location! location, location, location. Yes, this is a NYC hotel and the rooms are generally quite small. For the price and location, however, this a non-factor. The staff could use some training and the hotel could use "something" that would bring a culture together. Overall, the visit was great though.... and if we were to bring our dog next... More

Although the room I stayed in was very, very tiny as was the bathroom - I was very happy with the quality of the interior of the room and the funky (small) bathroom. I've stayed in other Kimpton Hotels and they're all very chic.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
