Eight family members stayed here while we attended a graduation and saw some of New York. Rooms were small but clean. Bathrooms had fine plumbing and were also clean. Beds were comfortable-pillows could have been less skimpy. Staff was friendly and helpful and location was great! I wish they would change the dirty spotted runner in the lobby since it... More

I was searching for a hotel in Manhattan that was clean and in a great location and that wasn't ridiculously expensive. I came across the Comfort Inn in Chelsea and got a great deal directly through their website. The hotel is clean and cozy. The rooms are typical for a NYC hotel (on the smallish side) but were kept VERY... More

Close to the real Chelsea scene, this Comfort Inn is steps away from all the major subway/bus you could want. OK - it's obviously not upscale, but basically fair and above just decent in all respects - AND for the well under -$200 special (senior) rate I got through the ChoiceHotels website, let's consider this absolutely unbeatable. Ongoing renovations seem... More

I think I must have been lucky in comparison to other reviewers as the king room I had (804) not only had plenty of space but a wonderful view of the Empire State Building. Yes, there was some traffic noise and much merriment coming from the 4040 Club on Saturday night/Sunday morning, but not enough to make having a room... More

Seemingly, Choice Hotels has breathed back life into this former Chinese owned Hotel Arlington in Chelsea. The rooms are now clean, cheerier and the amenities like high speed internet are dependable. The staff is friendly and the location can't be beat! Walk to restaurants and attractions in this centrally located property. On weekends, there is an interesting swap meet across... More

I booked my stay at this Comfort Inn knowing it is a budget tourist hotel. However, I encountered unexpected hassles. I parked across the street while registering and before I could get back to park my car in a garage (nearest one more than a block away), I already had a ticket for $130. I was parked in front of... This was a wonderful experience. The room, although small with the two twin beds, was very clean and the service was great. The staff was very helpful and cordial. The property is conveniently located to Times Square and NYU. I would stay here again and recommend it to all my associates. Great job Chelsea.

The hotel was actually very nice for the price. It is located on 25th in Chelsea (near 25th and Broadway). Our room was small like a cruise ship cabin. It was big enough for a king sized bed, small fridge, dresser, and desk. It also had a small closet for storing your suit cases and to hang your clothes. Everything... More

This hotel had an electrical problem on the day I was scheduled to be booked. They were unhelpful in telling me when the problem would be over and because their computers were down I couldn't even be checked in. I arrived, mind you, at 10:45pm on a Friday night to hopefully sleep. At midnight I finally decided to call the... More

Nice hotel, with a pretty good location. The subway is one block away, and you're just 2-3 stops away from Times Square. We were in NYC to spend New Year's Eve (if you have the chance don't miss it). We were six in a suite, and we did fit in there, but our suitcases didn't... LOL., but we gotta say... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
