excellent location and value for the price. Highly recommend this location and will stay here again when in New York. We had a family room and this worked really well with four ladies travelling together.

The Comfort Inn in Chelsea is affordable, simple, and well located in Manhattan. Nothing special except, maybe, the nifty old ceilings in the lobby and the sparkly chandeliers in the breakfast room. It has the feeling of having once been a tad more elegant. My daughter and I needed a place to stay in the upper East Side. Not being... More

Checking in was easy, concierge was helpful, room was small (as expected in NYC) but very comfortable and quiet (even on the 2nd floor), free Wi-Fi speed was average for hotels, and breakfast was good (we enjoyed the fruits, sausages, and make-your-own waffles the best). Subway is a good way to get around but the subway system is old. You... More

I was pleasantly surprised by the positive experience that I had at Comfort Inn Chelsea since my last trip. The whole customer experience has improved. The front desk is much more professional, the breakfast room staff is friendly and housekeeping is much more efficient than before. The room was surprisingly less noisy than my last trip. I really enjoy the... More

I have just returned from my NY. Again, I stayed here and it was very nice. The hotel is clean and so well run. My room was so well set up and everything worked. I love the new electrical outlets on the desk to charge my iPad and iPhone. I used the Wi-Fi every day. Again, the breakfast is so... More

I stayed here for 4 nights for work. The room was small but quiet and comfortable. There was a lot of kids staying there (school trips?). You have to get up early to get any breakfast. If you go later than 7 then the room is overflowing and lines. Overall however for location and helpfulness of staff it deserves a... More

Good room. Clean. Tiny bathroom but functional. Had to make sure bathroom door was fully shut when we left room otherwise main room door would not open...very quiet and very close to flat iron buidling and subways. Has coffee maker and fridge which was appreciated. Would stay there again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in August 2014 and had a very comfortable stay. Since we were 3 adults, we opted for the room with 3 separate single beds and it worked out very well. The total cost was $780 odd incl taxes as well as a nice breakfast - excellent value for money in Manhattan! And so close... More

We stayed here for five nights and were pleased with our room in 6th floor. The cleaning of our room were satisfying, coffee/tee and other aminities in the bathroom, the breakfast buffet was not impressive, but gave me a good start every day, but best of all was the location of the hotel. We were able to do much sightseeing... More

Nice location, a few blocks away from the Empire State Building. From our room we had a nice view on it! Also close to the subway, but the best thing to do is to walk. We were there in January and the room was very, very cold. It had to be heated with the air-conditioning machine and that just wasn't... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
