Maybe this was just a one time fluke and the stars were not aligned right. I like just having a basic room sometimes when in NYC because I know I am not going to stay in the room for hours except when sleeping. But when it is over $225 a night then ...well I was ok at first even with... More

We loved our stay at the Comfort Inn Chelsea - it was just perfect for what we needed. Finding a room with three twin beds was just amazing for me and my daughters as usually most have two double beds and someone has to share and someone gets a bed to themselves. We also loved the location so convenient to... More

Just in NYC for one night and this hotel suited us perfectly. Two double beds and enough space in the room for 2 adults and 2 kids (6 and 8). The room itself was typical for NYC (on the smaller side, no view) and furnishings a bit dated but clean, comfortable and fine for a night. Breakfast was a pleasant... More

First off, the WiFi stinks. Other than that, it's not bad...nice bathrooms, beds; decent breakfast, and everyone is very helpfull. Depending on the room you can get a view of the Empire State Building. I would come back to this hotel, oh! It is centrally located too!

Dear Madam, I apologize for the quality of the internet. It is possible that the problem is related to the splash page. The internet will only work if one hits the OK button. However, we have observed that more and more of our guests are streaming HD videos on the internet and this is taking up capacity. We are, however,... More

In November 2014 I met my daughter and her friend for a few days holiday in New York. While the hotel rooms are small, they are clean and the included breakfast is a good start to your day .The staff, location and price make it worthwhile to stay. We were able to walk most sites of interest or take a short... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel . When I made my reservation I mentioned that a room with a view would be nice. After allowing me to check in early, I went upstairs to my room and found an awesome view of the Empire State building. Comfortable bed, good shower and toilet also. All the staff I encountered were... More

This is a very old hotel that has had a modest make over. Very modest. My room was so small that I felt like I was on a cruise ship. The window overlooked the air conditioning unit that was located between four brick walls. The staff was not terribly friendly and when I went to check out there was NO... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
