The hotel is very charming. The rooms are medium size which is good for NYC. Amazing location - NYU and WS are a few steps away. Very close to SOHO yet in a quiet part of washington square. I would definitely go back without hesitation.

Service was attentive and we got lots of good advice from the doorman as well. Walked around the Village and visited some great little restaurants and Jazz clubs. Room, like most in NY, was small but clean comfortable and quiet.

My family and I try to stay at the Washington Square Hotel every time we visit NYC. We've been coming there for the past ten years and love it! The location in Greenwich Village is wonderful, breakfast so convenient and delicious, and the people so nice and helpful. The subway is just down the block, Babbo across the street, and... More

I was in the area for business, and the Washington Square Hotel turned out to be a great decision. It was situated next to Washington Square, near NYU, a large number of nice cafes, restaurants, jazz clubs, and comedy clubs. It was also less than a block from the W4th St station on Line A, C, and E, and a... More

The hotel is nicely situated to explore NY and enjoy the wonderful surroundings of Greenwich Village., from the park outside the door to a wonderful array of restaurants all around. The room we had is probably a decent size for NY, but the decor is nothing special and frankly a little tired. The staff are all attentive and friendly and... More

My Mom and I spent 4 nights at this hotel - our room was on the 9th floor. You can't beat the location of this hotel - it's across from Washington Square, near NYU, near jazz clubs, cafes, and restaurants. Loved the bathrobes and the complimentary breakfast! Very friendly staff & 24/7 too!

This hotel is wonderful! My boyfriend and I stayed here in June for 4 nights. The location is excellent. We were close to parks, subways, union square and the hop on hop off bus stop. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was great. We would definitely stay again. Highly recommend it!!!

This hotel is ideally placed to visit all the attractions in New York, many of which you can walk to, but if not the Metro is just down the road. Breakfast can be a bit chaotic but we found a diner down the road that was well worth a visit. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the staff pleasant... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
