Had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the Washington Square Hotel. Wonderful - trendy - hip. Walk to everything in Soho, Village, etc. Small rooms but very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar had great drinks!

My husband and I spent a night in New York at the Washington Square Hotel. It was the first time in a very long time that we didn't end up staying at a big chain in Midtown like the Hyatt, Hilton or the Marriott and so the location in the heart of Greenwich Village was a pleasant change for us.... We stayed here during July '14. Staff were friendly and helpful. $250-$300 per night, and the rooms were extremely small, no minibar or laundry service, facilities are extremely outdated - aircon was very noisy - tv tiny, and cleaning of the rooms weren't acceptable.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is close to Washington Square, in the heart of West Village and NYU's campus. It is a quaint hotel with some pluses and minuses. On the plus side, other than location, the bed was comfortable, the rooms are decent tho small. The decor in the lobby is quaint. On the... More

What a jewel! Quiet. Immaculate. Possibly the most comfy hotel bed ever. Furnishings and paintings from the art deco era adorn the rooms and lobby. It makes for an elegant yet relaxing home away from home. A nice continental breakfast is included -- yogurt and fruit, not just pastries -- and strong black coffee. And the restaurant downstairs is convenient.... More

Based on the mixed reviews, and the fact that it was the cheapest hotel in the area, I wasn't expecting much. I knew it would have smallish rooms (it's New York City) and expected it to be antiquated. Sure, the room was on the small side (expected), but the decor and ambiance leaned more toward quaint than antiquated. The window... More

If you are looking for a clean, efficient and friendly hotel in the middle of Greenwich Village, this is the perfect place. The room was on the small side, but had all the amenities - good coffee, gym, robes, free wii-fi and central air. The TV was small, but who needs a big TV when visiting NYC. A great find... More

Its in Greenwich. You feel safe walking around. I walked to ground zero from the hotel. A nice hour walk and you can also walk along the river all the way downtown. Then you come back with line 2 or 3 to 14th street. A lot of nice restaurants around the hotel. The room was clean but the shower grout... More

Just left a much pricier, new Botique hotel ( at 10:30 pm) to come here. We love this location, and eat at the awesome restaurant across the street, we obviously had an issue with the place we were at.. Toured the rooms here and packed up at the other place and came here.. Perfect location, nice rooms, roomy, nicely updated... More

just an excellent experience!. I picked this hotel based on reviews and location and price. Good pick! I brought 2 relatives from Europe for a first time NY visit. Great location for downtown activities, right at the corner of Washington Sq Park, near subway lines, one of the best complimentary breakfast buffets I have had; fresh fruit, good strong coffee,...
