My husband and I stayed her overnight for our 10th anniversary on July 3rd. The hotel is beautiful and quaint. It reminds me of a boutique hotel. As you know, space is tight in NYC but I thought they utilized the space efficiently. The room and bathroom were a good size and they provide C. O. Bigelow amenities. We took... More

We liked very much that they pay attention to details, for example extra bags for the waste basket, extra toilet paper, cups for the tea and coffee machine, the Keurig. We never had to ask for it. We also liked the breakfast and the restaurant service very much. Top of it all, we lost our boxers when they changed the... More

This hotel has it all- an ideal location in Greenwich Village, charming and well appointed rooms, a delicious breakfast that is included in the price and the most professional, engaging and caring staff I have ever encountered at a hotel anywhere. All this came at a very reasonable price for a NYC hotel- I did a lot of research and... More

This is a great place to stay if you want to be in the Village. Close to restaurants, bars, music, subway, etc. The rooms are very small but if you are in NYC and you spend more than six hours a day in your hotel room, you are doing it wrong.

"Now you’re smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel over Washington Square” In her song "Diamonds and Rust" Joan Baez remembers the time she spent with Bob Dylan in Room 305 back in 1964. I still fondly remember my first lengthy stay in 1956 at this hospitable place which was then known as the "Earle Hotel"; the rate was... More

Think of an oasis along side the hustle & bustle of the famous Washington Square Park. Treat yourself to a beautiful day. Shop, eat, or just wander the vibrant neighborhoods of SOHO and Greenwich Village nestled deep in NYC. After you've done all you can do return to that oasis. Rest, relax, have a drink and dine at the very... More

This hotel was right next to Washington Square Park which is steps from The Village. We love wandering though the neighborhood when we visit NYC, so this was perfect for us. The doormen were super friendly, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was included (unheard of in NYC). This is the perfect location for a real NYC tourist. If you... More

I always stay at this small, art deco hotel when I am in NYC. Centrally situated in the University district along from Washington Square, close to several subway lines, it is easy to get around, with shops and restaurants all around. My room this stay was the best yet - overlooking Waverly - yet still quiet. The room has all... More

I have lived in NYC for years and never knew about this hotel. It has a perfect location (right on Washington Square Park) and close to every subway! The staff is great, the rooms are charming (not 5 Star) but I would stay here every time I now "Visit" the city! I highly recommend this for fun or business, you... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
