Just back from a great, issue free week-long stay. I gave it a high mark because, if you take it for what it is, a basic, clean and central base in Manhattan, this is ideal. Some may have issues sharing a bathroom and with the noisy staff intercom on some of the floors. The in room facilities are very limited.... More

Wasn't expecting much here, but I did want hot water. None provided, nothing that they cared to do about it. Skip this uninspired dump and find another place to flop where you can take a shower.

The best deal we were able to find in NYC. Great neighborhood, and only about 2 blocks from union square where you get pretty much get on any subway line you're looking for. We were walking distance to great restaurants such as Momofuku and Ippudo. As other reviewers have said, miraculously the bathroom was never occupied when we needed it,... More

Overall good impressions and provided I don't find a better price / quality ratio in NYC next time I would stay again. I guess for a double accomodation it may feel a better value for money, though should I have been booking a double /twin I would definitely go for an upgrade to a different place. In Hotel 17, I... I had a small single room with shared bathroom. Room was clean, wifi worked, and there was an a/c (which I did not need) and a TV. I stayed on the 7th floor, and there is an elevator. The place was fairly quiet. Bathrooms were clean. And though I am not sure exactly how many shared bathrooms there are per... More

The best thing about the Hotel 17 is its location - only a few blocks away from Union Square, with great restaurants (try Casa Mono for amazing tapas) and coffee shops (71 Irving Place) right around the corner. The rooms are very basic, but comfortable. We stayed in room 703, which was a quite spacious double room. The bathrooms are... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here on the 23rd December and from 26th until 4th December. The hotel is basic, but clean and staff were friendly. James on the front desk was always happy to chat and recommend different restaurants and places to go in the area. The hotel is a short walk from Union Square and Greenwich Village and... More

I stayed in room 105. It was small. The bed (a short double) was in the corner of the room and there was 2.5 feet on the other side of the bed and maybe 3 feet at the end of the bed. I am 5'8" and my feet were at the end of the bed. The pictures of a larger... More

Recently stayed at this hotel. It's a nicely located, clean hotel with all the facilities you need. The wifi isn't the best but it works. Shared bathrooms kept relatively clean. My only grievance was when we checked in, we were told that the double room we booked wasn't available. They offered us a single room with a cot (and said... More
