If you want a nice and inexpensive place to stay I New your City, then this is the place. The single I stayed in had its own safe, and sink. The bathroom/shower (there were 2 on my side of the hotel) were convenient and clean. And you have to love the old elevator.

The hotel is very well situated in the middle of NY not far from the subway. The rooms are a bit small but clean the aria is not too noisy. Sharing the bathrooms was not too bad it was often free and clean

Landing here as cheapest option bookable via corporate travel. After reading TA reviews was prepared for some annoyance, but place is definitely value for money. Staff is friendly though sometimes not too helpful. Room (1p) was small but had everything it needed. AC was noisy. Bathroom on the hallway was always free and (barring one occasion) clean. Room was a... More

This hotel offers great value for the money. Although you have to share the bathroom with other people on the same floor it was no problem, it was very clean and and you didn´t have to wait long time. It´s centrally located so you can just walk to a lot of interesting points. The area is very quiet.

This is a place I will return! My first trip to NYC. I loved it! The people that work there are outstanding and very helpful. So very clean. The shared bath, you never had to wait and was very clean. The location was safe, and close to subway, dining, and just walking. I had to take my daughter to NYU... More

It was indeed small but we expected it for the price in NYC. It was in a great location close to Union Square and lots of places. There was lots of parking around. You have 2 bathrooms for half a floor of like 8-12 people but aside from one morning it wasn't too busy. The bathrooms were very clean and... More

This was a basic hotel inside an old building which gave it a nice feel. The workers are friendly and keep the place well kept. If you're traveling in a budget look here it's also in a great location! While there make sure to try the local diner and enjoy union square!

I stayed here for four days and it was ok. My room was small but it was across from the bathroom so that was a benefit. The location was great both in terms of reaching shopping areas and to and from the airport. I would recommend here for someone on a shoe string budget who wants to experience New York... More

Great location. Otherwise rather unimpressive establishment. Loo down the hall. Bed is way to soft for two people to sleep comfortably, think of a bouncy castle and you get the picture. No rolling shutters and very flimsy blinds. All in all a bit pricy for what it is at $150 a night, but that's NY for you.

If you are comfortable with shared restrooms, a smallish room, and either a slow elevator or a winding staircase, then you will no doubt have the mindset to be quite content with the relative bargain and location. The walk to subway, bagels, and farmers' market was just fine. We came to NY to squeeze a couple of Lonely Planet days... More
