I have stayed at this hotel 2 times. Both times for 5 days and I really loved it. The staff is very helpfull and can help you with anything and it is located near to the best breakfast place in town, Sunburst. The location is great for first time visitors as it is in the middle of many great things... more

this place delivered brilliant times. staff dont bother you, infact you hardly know they are even there. awesome location near the trendy east village and alphabet city for groovy dukebox classics, dive bars and trendy types - close enough to stumble home at 8am. nyc is pretty small so you can easily walk to soho or the west village, and... more

Great place to stay in NY.Cheap and cheerful. Our room was on the 6th floor and was very spacious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were always clean, which is great since they're shared. Location is excellent. One thing that was annoying was that it was always very hot in our room, but we didn't spend much time in there... more

I've stayed in many hotels in several countries and these were surely the smallest rooms I've seen. There's the bed, and a few feet to walk around in. That's not nessecarily a bad thing, as I spent very little time in the room, but for people looking to lounge around or watch tv, look elsewhere. The communal bathroom was always... more

My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at the Hotel 17 and had a wonderful experience. We were in NY to help our daughter pack up after her first year in college. We found the Hotel met all our needs. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room (612) was a double and was laid out quite nicely... more

This review is about my second stay in Hotel 17 in April 2009. As same as my previous stay, I really enjoyed my choice of Hotel 17 again. This time we -three people- stayed in a non-smoking room which is bigger and has a better window view than smoking rooms. I can say that Hotel 17 is -clean -safe -central... more

My sister-in-law and I visited New York in April 2009. We stayed in Hotel 17 for 5 nights and had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is clean, rooms are clean and the shared bathrooms are also very clean, which was our main concern. They were always available, in fact, we hardly met any other guests in the halls at all,... more

Stayed here last year on a weeks holiday in New York. We had a double room with shared bathroom and it was a very pleasant stay. The shared bathrooms (two on our corridor) were always empty even though the hotel was full and they were always in great condition. The thing I really liked about this hotel was it's character... more

We stayed at the Hotel 17 in New York City for 3 nights. Our room was clean, no bed bugs. The shared bathroom also was clean, however narrow. Free wireless internet access, but slow and unstable. Don't expect any other amenities, there is no breakfast etc. In the part of the hallway close to our room a strong urine stench... more
