After arriving late from Newark airport we decided to book a hotel in the city to be closer to work in the AM. However, this was more like an unsafe apartment building that if the inspection people came, they would shut it down (New York Inn 47th & 8th ave NYC). We were there a total of 15mins. Enough to... Tried this place for one night, price is good for the location, BUT that's it! No elevator, front desk person will not lift a finger to help with your luggage up the steps. As you enter in most of the rooms, they have a bizarre odor to them, old or mold, I have no idea, thank god I don't come... More

I was excited to be in the city, unfortunately this hotel did not make me excited actually disappointed and sick. The first room I had did not have a temperature control so the room was close to 86 degrees. The shower was cold because the dial did not turn. The second room I had came with mice, water marks on... I love traveling and I love new york. My boyfriend and I had a couple of days off so we decided to leave boston and go to NYC. I booked the hotel quickly without even reading the reviews but I SHOULD HAVE!!!! we got there around 5pm after checking in the desk guy told us the room number. The room... More

I stayed at this hotel in the beginning of March 2015 for 3 nights. I was scared when I read all the reviews here but I chose to give a shot again. The first impression was pretty good as the entrance seemed to be pretty new and the staff so nice. They gave me 2 candies. The room was at... More

Do not stay at the new York inn! It's horrible! It's a dump and most likely has black Mold. Showers are cold and wallpaper is coming off and the roof is damaged. It's a dive! Definitely will not be staying here again!

This is my last day at the hotel and in New York. It is horrible and dont recommend at all. One day the room didnt get cleaned, the hotel is dirty and a dump. Wallpaper coming off the wall, black mold spots in bathroom, electrical heather that barely works in the cold weather it is at the moment. Lastly and... More

My husband and I stayed in this hotel back in June 2011, and we weren't expecting much going by the reviews on here, but we were pleasantly surprised. The location is brilliant, and that was the main reason we chose to stay here. The stairs were pretty awkward to navigate with our cases but once we made it to our... More

This place is a hot mess. So nasty and a waste of money Will never come back even if I were given a free night. This place is so dirty, nasty, terrible and can't believe it's open to the public. I'm very disappointed in my stay at this garbage.

Don't ask why I had entered this place, but I couldn't even imagine ANYONE actually PAYING for a stay here - unless you are only here for 'recreational' purposes. My brief experience was one cold winters night. I mean COLD. Like 3 degrees. Well this place offered a room with NO HEAT and the bonus of a WINDOW A/C which... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
