This hotel is has a good location, reasonable price, good staff service, but the room where i was which happens to be on the seventh floor facing the street was so noisy. The room is not sound proof, you can hear the noise from the vehicles driving by and it is disturbing. For 2 days that I was there , i... More

The romantic notion of being across the street from Carnegie Hall was why I stayed at The Salisbury the first time in 2009. Face it though, the larger cross-town streets, like 57th Street just have more bustle! It's a New York thing. Hotels on side streets can be a bit quieter. In 2009, there was construction on the sidewalk in... More

This is only about a 20 minute walk to the heart of Times Square where all the action is. And it is 5 minutes from Central Park. One bdrm. Suites are roomy with older style furniture including a pull out sofa bed, 2 double beds and a kitchen table and kitchenette with microwave, sink and coffee maker.

My friend found this location prior to our visit to the city. Having stayed in the city different times for many years, when I initially saw the price of the hotel, I became worrisome of the type of hotel it could possibly be. As you know, you usually get what you pay for. With this hotel, you get so much... More

We stayed at the Salisbury one night post cruise to see the Rockette Christmas Show. I was amazed at how dated the furniture was, but the upholstery was not snagged, frayed, or dirty. The rooms were larger, more comfortable, and less expensive than hotels I've stayed at in Paris and London. I liked the refrigerator and coffee maker. We called... More

I stayed at the Salisbury Hotel on W 57th for the first time almost 20 years ago, and I keep returning both for its outstanding location (same block as Carnegie Hall, 2 blocks from Central Park and 1 block from 5th Ave) and its huge suites. Seriously, the 1 bedroom suites are probably larger than many of the studio apartments... More

We visited NYC for the first time in December. The goal was to be close to Times Square and Central Park. The Salisbury Hotel is definitely the place to be! The hotel is dated; however everything worked properly and the room with the two full beds is very spacious. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

You cannot beat the inexpensive, large, clean rooms at the Salisbury. Throw in a great breakfast for $10 apiece, a friendly and helpful staff and you cannot go wrong. We only wish the heating could be turned off or at least down and the elevator wait was not so long.

Located across the street from Carnegie Hall, 2 blocks from Central Park, 1.5 blocks from 5th Ave, & 10 min walk to Time Square. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Rooms have maintained their 1930s design while still delivering on current expectations such as flat screen consoles. Breakfast & internet cost extra. Front desk & lobby staff... More

This little hotel is exceptional value for its location. The decor is a little dated and quaint but everything was in good condition and functional and clean. Unfortunately for our 6 night stay we got a room with no fridge/kitchenette or even coffee making facilities, but it was compensated for by the spaciousness of the room. Convenience stores, and subway... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
