A GREAT location and a reasonable price (for NYC). Those are the principal reasons for staying at the Salisbury. It is a bit old and shabby but CLEAN and comfortable. For a few extra bucks you should stay in a one-bedroom suite facing 57th St. Much larger, and you can actually see the city. Downer: You can wait a long... More

This hotel ticked all the boxes myself and my partner required: GREAT central location for a holiday/vacation in Manhattan, CLEAN ROOMS!, helpful staff, comfy beds for collapsing into at the end of a full day in a great city. Some comments focus on the aged appearance of some fixtures and fittings and the bathrooms are often also described as needing... More

Shocked at the outdated condition of this hotel especially the bathroom in our suite. Have never seen anything like it. The entire suite although clean is in desperate need of an entire make over (pull chain in closet to turn light on). Can not believe hotel management believes it is acceptable to have guests subjected to such conditions. Thankfully, the... More

I really just wanna comment of NYC hotels rather than rate this one. Probably because of the price of real estate, there can be no "value for money". I have stayed in some strange hotels on Manhattan over the years and at the middle of the market they are much worse than others of similar range in other big cities... More

When it's come to New York City hotels I think we must take to account the fact that real Estate is so costly that reviews with Traveler state of mind is not going to give to others the right views. New York City hotels are not what we can review with the same eyes as we do in Portland .... More

We just returned from 3 nights at the Salisbury. There were pros and cons. The pros are that the hotel is in an excellent location very close to Central Park and Times Square and a little away from the noise. They staff were very nice and always helpful with suggestions. The rooms were very large. The cons are that we... More

I've stayed at the Salisbury several times on business. The building is old, but the rooms are quite large, always clean, and reasonably quiet. Noise sometimes comes from the street, but I've had no problems with noise from inside the hotel or through the walls. Prices here are always better than other, better-know nearby hotels. The location is excellent on... More

Have just returned from our second 5 day stay at the Salisbury. We were last there in 2010 We were originally given a room on the 15 th floor which overlooked the back of the building even though we had asked for a road facing room when we booked. John , our concierge, then spoke again to the front desk... More

We first visited The Salisbury 4 years ago and it was great then, so we decided to pay them another visit. We stayed here for 5 nights Thursday to Tuesday and were warmly welcomed by the concierge who helped us to our room. We were disappointed with our backstreet view room so requested to be moved and are so glad... More

Recently stayed at the Salisbury in a one bedroom suite with my family during New York City Marathon week. We had two double beds, which could fit four and there is also a sofa in the living area. Our stay was pleasant, but did not start that way. Our original room on the 7th floor was the loudest place I... More
