The reviews are pretty brutal for this hotel and I can understand some of the reasons - this hotel is a bit dated and needs a some updating - however the room we had was clean, spacious and perfectly located. The staff was fantastic, they were polite and answered every question with great information - and the doorman was very... More

Stayed here with my husband and 2 adult children for 6 nights. We had 2 rooms next door to each other. Location great a couple of blocks from Central Park and Plaza Hotel and easy walk to Times Square and Port Authority. Across from Carnegie Hall. Great $10 breakfast which we had each day before our sightseeing. Great Italian restaurant... More

This hotel is more than what you pay for. The location is great, we walked everywhere (to times square every night especially). I found the rooms a generous size and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Starbucks and a store directly across the road were very convenient as well as the pizza place next door.... Great location, close to sights & food. Across from Carnegie Hall. Next door to Angelo's Pizza, the best Margherita pizza we had during our trip [#1 of 9]. Short walk to MOMA and Park. Beds were OK, but street noise and malfunctioning AC prevented sleeping.

Stayed here for 10 nights in June 2015. Whilst the hotel is an older style and slightly run down is was perfect for our stay in NYC. We were on the 16th floor and had no issues with our room at all. Two queen beds were comfortable, the shower was decent and the size of the room a lot bigger... More

Stay at the Salisbury if you want spacious accommodation with character, comfy beds, a fabulous location, friendly staff and ģood value. However if you love plastic, predictable bland hotel chains look elsewhere! Yes it needs a renovation bùt when that happens we probably won't be able to afford to stay there anymore. However I do think wifi should available free... More

We were advised to book a taxi by the hotel staff as we were leaving at rush hour to get to JFK rather than flag a yellow taxi. Big mistake. The driver was rude, was insistent during the whole of the journey that he wanted to be paid in cash despite my asking him prior to getting in the car... More

Nice staff. Great location. Nothing fancy but you are not in your room much in NYC anyway. Super loud from street noise and honking but that is the price of the central location. Right next to Central Park, and close to Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and lots of other fun places to eat.

Salisbury hotel has a history and you can see the old, expensive materials in the lobby (oak panel and velvet couch) and as tiles in the roof above the shower in your room. Now the glory days are over, however I will still recommend the hotel warmly due to it's location, and because the rooms are clean and quite ok.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
