Five of us stayed at the Salisbury Hotel for one evening in July. There was plenty of room for all of us. A comfortable main room with a tv (never watched, though), a fold out couch and enough seating for all and a round table with chairs. There was a refrigerator, coffee mater and sink in a separate area by... More

For most travellers hotel prices in central New York can be very scary. Be scared no more. The Salisbury offers comfortable, spacious rooms just a couple of blocks from Central Park and opposite Carnegie Hall. Subway stations are found on the corner of 6th and 7th Avenues. While it is looking a little weary and, interestingly, shares its site with... More

What a pleasant surprise! The location couldn't have been better. Upon arrival, we were upgraded and the rooms were fantastic. It is an older, but very clean and kept up building. I would definitely recommend staying there.

We (family of 4, children 6 and 10 years) stayed 5 nights at this hotel. Compared to other hotels you get a lot for your money. Our suite had a large living room with a small kitchenette and large bedroom with 2 large beds. The hotel is located just off Central Park and a short walking distance from Time Square... More

Salisbury is an old hotel but still nice. Rooms were much larger than other NYC hotels I have stayed at. Room had a microwave and a fridge. Only issue we had was the Air Conditioner wasn't working well on our last day but no big deal. Rooms are clean. Staff are very helpful and cheery. Internet was through an outside... More

The hotel is just a couple of blocks from Central Park and right across the street from Carnegie Hall. There is also a subway top on the same block. Very convenient! We stayed in a room with 2 double beds. Very roomy. The room had a refrigerator and microwave. Our room was located on the 9th floor and in the... More

The personel was polite and helpful. With 3 teenagers it was a disapointment that there were no free WIFI. The hotel was old but has large room. We did not sleep any good at night because the windows with the aircondition was to simple. We woke up several times at night because of traffic outside and didn't sleep well at... More

Good location, clean and good sized rooms with comfortable beds. No free wifi and we couldn't connect to the paid wifi, which was the only inconvenience. A very good option within this price range. The in-room refrigerator was helpful to store breakfast items to help save money.

Went here for a week a year ago and although it needed some updating for the money I paid it was clean, and a perfect location for getting around New York. Helpful staff. Cleaned room every day. Fresh supplies. All I needed. Comfy bed.

I was looking for a place to accomadate 1 adult and 4 kids. I found the Salisbury and was thrilled. Although the furniture is a bit dated, everything was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Location close to subways and the hotel has a deal for parking. We loved it !!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
