I stayed here with my wife and son for Christmas and new year. A clean comfortable room to go back to after walking all day. The fridge and microwave are great as I had porridge every morning. Go to shop across the road for milk, bagels, snacks etc, so handy. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have subway maps... More

Great location for any traveler to New York City, we spend Christmas in a one bedroom king room and had more then enough room for our family of four. Yes it is an older hotel but that adds to the charm. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and maid service did a great job... More

I was in NYC to watch my sister and niece perform with their choral group in Carnegie Hall. During our time in the city we stayed at the Salisbury Hotel. The concert weekend coincided with the January 23 - 24th blizzard where NYC received the second highest snow fall on record. First, the hotel is centrally located to many of... More

I stayed at the Salisbury Hotel when in the city to attend a concert at Carnegie Hall. You can't beat the convenience! The staff was friendly, the room was a suite with separate, enormous living room, large bedroom and adequate bathroom. There was a mixup with our room at check-in but it was resolved quickly. The room was too hot... More

Great service and accommodations. When we arrived Mr. Compton at the reception desk was able to upgrade us to a beautiful king suite. Wow, the first room was a kitchenette with a table for two, refrigerator, microwave and sink. The next room had a full size sofa-bed, two comfortable chairs and an office chair. Nice lighting, and nicely furnished including... More

The hotel was a great location for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade--only a half block from the parade route. The hotel had a family room which could accommodate my wife and I and our 3 kids, which was perfect. Unfortunately the hotel has not been renovated in decades, it was old and very worn. The staff was very friendly and helpful.... More

We stayed here last week with our 2 young boys in room 1703. The room was dated and a bit old looking but more than adequate for our needs and we were comfortable there. The only issue I had was the window. We were on the top floor and had our 5 year old son with us. The window lifted... More

Stayed for 14 nights from Australia. Escorted to room by Paul who was very helpful and informative. Hotel is a bit old and dated and needs a little TLC, but clean and liveable. The room we stayed in on 12th floor faced 57th Street and you did hear a bit of street noise and sirens etc. at night, but nothing... More

With welcoming door men we were sure to have a good stay in this great city. Our bags taken up to our room by Nick and easy check in, we entered our clean large suite with our three kids. Bathroom small but adequate and the hotel itself of older vintage we were happy with our choice and price we payed... More

Hotel is older and has not been renovated. The rooms are oversize for NY. The sleeping area is set back from the hall; in between are a small pantry, closets and the bathroom. This makes it quieter than most. It is clean and the beds are newish and comfortable. Location on 57th, now Millionaire's row, near Central Park, Lincoln Center,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
