This hotel was a real find. Had stayed in New York once before much closer to Times sq in a hotel with the smallest rooms ever. The Holiday Inn however was much better, great room sizes and friendly staff. The conceirge was very helpful to us and made everything easy. Its very close to Central Park and about a 20min... More

Actual hotel fine- good location, quiet with amenities. Room modern and large but no minibar. However, we had problems when checking in-the room had been booked in January (and we didnt arrive until May) and fully paid for (or so we thought), but the staff informed us that they had tried 3 times to get paymnet from a credit card... I liked this hotel very much, we felt at home during our 5 day visiting to NY. Rooms were very spacious, lobby very nice, personnel very friendly (bagboys helped us for NBA tickets) etc. Really, you get a great hotel at a moderate price.

This was a great hotel, great location, great service - but the one thing that stunned me is there is no AIR CONDITIONING! How can people even survive there in the summer? As it was, we luckily only had one hot day when we were there, and almost roasted alive... even on the days when it started to get cold... More

We stay in NYC frequently and chose this hotel due to its proximity to Carnegie Hall and the price. Location was great. Room was attractive and clean. Staff was friendly. We paid $205 with all taxes for a double room. Free internet in the room. Bar area very nice and staff knowledgable. Parking was $20 for 24 hours. I would... More

This hotel is around 15 miles from JFK and was around $50 in a taxi, ALWAYS use the yellow taxis as they are cheaper than the private ones, there is a 10% 'gratuity' on EVERYTHING! Hotel is spacious, the rooms are basic but very clean and tidy, there is an enormous bed which I loved! Lifts are very small though... More

The hotel was in a good location, close to the theaters and to central park. I liked the room, it was spacious and had everything we needed. A view would have been nice but it was acceptable for being in nyc. The hallways were a bit 70s and reminded me of a cheesy motel. The reception hall was ok but... More

This hotel was an amazing value for the price. The room was large by any standard, especially for NYC. And it had just been remodeled so everything was clean and new! Having access to the real gym downstairs was a big perk for me. Didn't try the restaurant but the lobby and bar area were spacious and nice. Location was... More

this is not a 5 star hotel, but probably one of the few ny 3 star hotels that actually deserves 3 stars. first i am writing the review from the hotel with its courtesy wireless internet which is nice. second, i arrived at 7:30am and they checked me in with no problem whatsover. third, the rooms are very big in... This hotel was wonderful after being stuck at the Carter Hotel first(total dump)...Our room felt very large as compared to other rooms I have stayed in, in the city. It was fairly basic but just perfect if you aren't the type to never leave your room on vacation...and actually see the sights. I felt comfortable leaving my belongings there, and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
