Stayed with my family here on a business trip. The location and rooms were o.k. Nothing special, though the size of the room we had with 2 beds was quite spacious. The kids really liked the rooftop pool, though it's too bad they are only open until 6:00.

Holiday Inn is a nice hotel in a perfect location, its rooms are very old and MUSTY. In one of our rooms the AC almost didn't work and there wasn't even the basic equipment (as a mini-fridge or a safe) which we expected to have in such a decent hotel in Manhattan. The (three!!) elevators were always full of people... More

Still in hotel as writing this, refused entry to pool (came back early for kids to have dip b4 we left for airport) - but won't let us even sit by it as we've checked out 2hours ago (thought we were doing maid a favour!) Our room was very old, problems with plumbing - dirty water smell. Staff not very... More

Rooms are poor. Beds are good. Television is 25 years old. No fridge on the room. Bathroom is too old. Free wifi. People at reception are very kind. The location is fine. But the hotel needs a complete renovation. I wouldn't go there again. There are better places on NYC.

Be aware - if you book on a reduced price web site, you might not get the room you want. We were a party of 6 - requested 2 rooms with 2 double beds each. Got 2 rooms with king beds. Oops. Our bad? We did get roll-aways... eventually. The room is fine - beds are fine...but we did have... More

Great hotel, clean, good position but the lady with the bun behind the bar is Very grumpy and moody, everyone in the hotel was nice except the lady with the bun. The beer already was expensive, but now I got it delivered with a grumpy face.

Whilst understanding New York is expensive, I am horrified that this hotel actually gets away with ripping people off so badly. Travelers beware! Blocked toilet; filthy room - you name it, we had it. What a shame that our first (and probably last) visit to New York was spoiled by this hotel's low standards.

For a central location, this was good value with very helpful and obliging staff. Rooftop pool was a real bonus (though we'd have loved it to be open earlier). Rooms clean and functional. Bar expensive - don't order G&T!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
