Just returned from a week here and was very disappointed with the Hotel. Whilst rooms are spacious they are drab in their nondescript decor. We had to change rooms due to the noise from the heat exchanger which ran thro' the wall in room 853 waking my wife every morning at 3.15am. We were first given room 855 as an... More

Myself and my mum stayed in this hotel in august, for 2 weeks. It's in a great location for central park, times square, basically everything you want to see in New York is in walking distance! The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the guy at the information desk... he was amazing!! The hotel likes to get a copy... More

We used our Holiday Inn points to stay here, so, of course it was a great value for us to stay here. The location was very good, so we were able to walk to many of the local sites like Times Square, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. We were just a few blocks away from... More

They say you get what you pay for and that is very true with the Holiday Inn on 57th. We stayed here for a week in April 2010 and while we loved the location and that we could walk anywhere we wanted with ease, the hotel is old, run down and the staff are the rudest we've ever come across... More

Although this hotel is situated in Midtown Manhattan it was very quiet and comfortable. The central location was ideal for the various toutist locations eg Central Park, Rockefeller Centre, St Pat's, and subway station Columbus Circle, to easily access other New York locations.. Staff in the hotel were very firendly and accommodating.

Stayed here for 5 nights in September, Arrived after a long flight late at night and the receptionist who checked us in was one of the rudest we have come across and began to worry that this was a sign of things to come after reading other reviews. We eventually found our room in the building located at the back... More

The hotel was ok. We got a good rate and knew we would not be spending much time in the hotel so went for the economy Holiday Inn. The room was a reasonable size with coffee machine and two queen beds. The whole place was tired and needed refurbishment. There was a plaster on the wall of the bathroom that... More

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel, in view of many of the reviews on this website. We stayed for four nights at the end of September / beginning of October as a prelude to a tour of New England. The hotel was booked for us by the tour company so was not chosen by us. When i consulted... More

It's >70F out, raining, and the room air conditioners are off? Mngmnt cited a state law, yet the lobby is air conditioned. The rooms ($150 two years ago) are now $280/nt. I sort of expected air conditioning. I also believe this HI is showing it's age since my last visit and review a few years ago.The common areas like hallways,... More

Really uninspired stay at the Holiday Inn. For about $50 more a night, I could've stayed at the W and avoided: * Hearing every conversation in the room next door, thanks to paper thin walls * The flies, mosquitoes, and moths that roamed my room * The mysterious non-mosquito bites I woke up with this morning * The cigarette smoke... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
