Not easy to get to from JFK with luggage. First room was a bit grotty. The door had been broken down at some point and all the locks were broken. Settling down to sleep and we were told we had to move rooms. No explanation. Wallpaper in new hallway was falling off which made it feel unkempt. Rooms were big,... More

I booked this hotel for four days through Hotwire and had a very good experience. We arrived half an hour before check-in, and our room was ready (granted it was a weekday). The staff were very polite at the front desk. The room was modern, clean, and the air conditioning worked great, even though it was 80 degrees out for... More

We had booked this hotel with Virgin and then checked out trip advisor and got rather worried as some people were making negative comments about the Holiday Inn at West 57th Street. We decided that there's no pleasing some people and we should make our own judgement. Location - great for Columbus Circle Subway station (less than 10 mins away),... More

I stayed with three friends for two night at the Holiday Inn. Although we booked a non-smoking room, we got a smoking room. We tried to change the room, but apparently no other room was available. Otherwise, we were very happy with the accommodation. The price for the rooms seemed very reasonable (especially for Manhattan). The hotel is situated close... More

The rooms were spacious, clean and nice! The front desk really helped us when we needed an early check-in and the location is very good! Close to Central Park and Columbus Circle. Holiday Inn really reached my expectations! I couldn´t expect more from them!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in August 2010. Our room was large for NYC standards, clean and in a great midtown location. Air conditioning unit in our room was quite noisy. Overall, it's a comfortable place to return to after a busy day sightseeing.

I was happy with my stay in New York City. The hotel was comfortable, clean, centrally located and at a reasonable price. I would certainly recommend it.

Annoyances: First the Mouse. We had a mouse in the room the front desk was called and they sent a man to look for it. He was unsucessful. He did block the outlet pipe of the air conditioner. On the mouse's second apperance we called the front desk and they sent the man again, there was a small hole in... More

Stayed here for four nights in two rooms -the rooms were some of the biggest we have ever stayed in - two double beds and space to walk around each with the usual other desk, table etc. The a/c was great in one room, just adequate in the other and it was 100 degrees outside. One of three elevators was... More

This is a great hotel to explore New York from. It's easy to get to any parts of the city by walking or public transport / cab. The only blemish was the receptionist who insisted there was no way that we could have two rooms close together to be near our family - she put us at opposite ends! When... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
