I was looking for a more affordable version of the Hotel Plaza Athenee and I found it....Hotel Elysee is a gem and I can't believe I hadn't heard of it or stayed there before. Great location between Madison and Park on 54th Street, and home to the Monkey Bar -- a famous Rat Pack hang out from the late '50's... More

When my girlfriend and I travel, we prefer small hotels and B&B's rather than the large, modern impersonal hotels, so when we decided on a trip to NYC, we did our research and chose Hotel Elysee and could not be happier with our choose. It was clean and well maintained, the staff was super friendly and helpful, plus the complimentary... More

We arrived 15 minutes before check in and our room was not ready. They offered us a room with a solarium instead and we took that. The room was small, the solarium was dated, with no view and dirty, opaque glass roof. It also smelled of either a plant or a cleaning solution. We asked to move to the original... More

We first stayed at the Hotel Elysee in 2010. We have just had our 4th trip to New York (from South Africa) and therefore our 4th stay at the hotel. The location is fantastic and we find that we can walk everywhere (shops, Central Park, Broadway, restaurants). The staff are AMAZING and it's great to see so many familiar faces... More

The Elysee is a great hotel - clean, very helpful staff, and centrally located. The complimentary breakfast service, evening wine and cheese, and the availability of cookies and drinks until midnight, also complimentary, are very valuable and nice extra touches.

We had the chance to spend a night in NYC and chose the Hotel Elysee based upon the ratings it has received. Upon arrival at the front desk we were suprised to hear that we were upgraded to a premium suite and when we entered the suite....WOW! We were upgraded to a suite that was HUGE. It had a Steinway... The rooms are small but comfortable and up to date. Given the age if the building, the rooms can be a little funky with long narrow hallways. I was in the back of the hotel which was very quiet. No view to speak of but I would rather have quiet. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast in the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Elysee for a one night anniversary getaway. The entire staff seem to be very focused on customer service and attention to detail. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The complimentary evening wine and cheese is a nice perk, as is the very generous continental breakfast. If you are staying for any length of... More

If you want character and charm this is the place for you. I first stayed at the Elysee in 2000 so was interested to see if it lived up to my memory. The hotel did not disappoint. We stayed for 7 nights and had a great time. Check-in was efficient and polite, our room was on the 7th floor and... More
