The rooms are spacious and comfortable; quality bed linen is always very welcome; there is a good variety of food on offer for breakfast; and enjoying wine and nibbles in the lounge at the end of the day was a very thoughtful touch. The Hotel Elysee is perfectly situated if you're interested in visiting MOMA, the Frick Collection, the Metropolitan... More

The wonderful boutique hotel is right off Madison on 54th. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff aims to please. They have a window filled living room/library area where they serve a coffee and breakfast, with every paper you could ever want to read provided, plus a lovely happy hour in the afternoon. The Monkey Bar is also in... More

Our second time to the Hotel Elysee and it was as wonderful as we remembered. This hotel is one of the few remaining "untouched" hotels in Manhatten. You are greeted by an elegant doorman who welcomes you as you step out of your car. Once inside, it is like stepping back to a time when hotels really did cater to... More

The staff is accommodating and the rooms are spotless and plenty of space in the suites. This is our 3rd time at this hotel and it gets better every time. MOMA is a few blocks away . Very centrally located and the MTA is 1/2 block away.

Wonderful old style hotel with modern amenities. Great staff - especially at front desk and front door. Can't be beat. We did not eat at the hotel- so cannot speak to food quality or price. Had a drink at the Monkey Bar. Interesting, but drinks are a little pricey. Not even sure if Hotel Elysee owns the Monkey Bar, but... More

My daughter and I have been going here for several years for her birthday in January. The Elysee is perfect for us. There is an intimate European charm to the Elysee, and the staff is attentive to our every request. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and there is a turn down in the evenings. The midtown location suits us well... More

The Elyseé was fantastic, our room was clean and comfortable. The staff more gracious and helpful, greeting us as we came and went throughout the day. It rained hard one day and the hotel provided us with 6 umbrellas to help us wade through the streets of Manhattan. A daily continental breakfast with access to the NY Times and an... More

We spent a long weekend at Hotel Elysee. The midtown proximity is walking distance to theatres, restaurants, and Central Park. Our room was cozy and very comfortable. The breakfast selections included cereals, bagels, bakery, juices, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, tea and chocolate. The wine and hors d'ouevres were exceptional including red and white wine as well as... More

We stayed at Elysee for two nights. Twice the elevator was out of service and we had to take the service elevator. Housekeeping left an open bag of trash (not our trash) in our room. Seating at breakfast would not be as difficult if the staff made busing the tables a priority. We would however, stay there again. Breakfast was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
