Amazing boutique hotel, great location and very unique ambiance. The rooms, the club room, the lobby...all feels like home away from home. Breakfast is delicious and rich - not a typical continental breakfast you would expect from a NYC hotel and free wine and cheese every afternoon, tea and cookies...you name it. Few steps from 5th avenue, Central Park, subway!... More

We stayed at Hotel Elysee for four nights in early January to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The hotel's décor is charming and European in style, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The location is perfect--just a short walk to MOMA and easily walkable to Broadway shows, with convenient access to the subway as well. One reason we chose this... More

The room is clean and very charming with French décor. They provide free break fast and wine & cheese at night. It's very convenient and good deal for travelers. The location is very good. It's away from city noises but close to major attractions such as Times Square, Central Park, and Modern museum of art (MoMA).

Just returned from a long weekend in a deluxe king room at the Hotel Elysee. The reasonable price of the room included daily continental breakfast (bagels, pastries, coffee juice, fruit w/ gluten free option) and wine and cheese happy hour. We chose the Museum of Modern Art package so also received 2 VIP re-usable MOMA tickets. The hotel location is... More

Interesting hotel, this one. It has a rich literary history and is also the site of the Monkey Bar. I spent a quiet stay here. Rooms are lovely but there's no sign of postmodernism anywhere so if you are into that, you might be disappointed at the traditional furnishings. (I liked the look of the place.) Location is fairly good,... More

We arrived in New York to great relief when we stepped foot in this hotel. We were immediately upgraded to a suite and had a bottle of sparkling wine delivered to our room. The staff were all extremely polite and friendly and couldn't do more for us. The wine and cheese afternoons made it difficult for us to tear ourselves... More

Our second stay at Hotel Elysee. Charming boutique hotel perfectly located in mid-town. Service is excellent. Love the breakfast room/wine/tea room. Our favorite hotel in NYC. Only minor complaint was that we had a coffeemaker and housekeeping didn't clean out the coffee. Looked like she/he may have intended to come back but forgot. One quick call to the front desk... Just returned from NYC...What a great experience, love the rooms warmth and character. ...easy to get everywhere....yummy breakfast and appetizers and wine in the club room. The staff make this place special, those attending to the club room and front desk....especially Casey.

This charming boutique hotel has character, a great location for walking about the city, a friendly and professional staff, and extras such as later checkout, complimentary breakfast and an evening wine and cheese reception. We took advantage of a hotel promotion offering free tickets to MOMA. We will definitely stay here again.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable; quality bed linen is always very welcome; there is a good variety of food on offer for breakfast; and enjoying wine and nibbles in the lounge at the end of the day was a very thoughtful touch. The Hotel Elysee is perfectly situated if you're interested in visiting MOMA, the Frick Collection, the Metropolitan... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
