I arrived at the Hilton Manhattan East just before the 'Frankenstorm' and had a wonderful stay. I didn't know the area that well, but the hotel had been recommended to me as it was good value and quite small, for Manhattan, with a local feel to it. The location is on 42nd Street, between 2nd Avenue and the United Nations... More

Rooms were a nice size, especially for NY. Beds were extremely comfortable. Staff went over and beyond the call of duty to make our stay pleasant. A couple of things needed repair and cleaning in the room and the Houskeeping Manager, Maria Vega, was on it immediately! She not only got things fixed and cleaned right away, she sent up... More

This Hotel I stay was nice and the Staff very friendly. The Room are a bit small but this Hotel still have same room as a smoking one and this is quite unique especially on the State. Also the room has a cafe machine with lavazza. Just stay one night, for business and I can't add more.

The boyfriend and I have a nice little trip planned to NYC next week and so it made perfect sense for us to book a room at the Hilton Manhattan East considering that he is a BLACKSTONE employee. Since it will be his birthday I decided to call the hotel ahead of time to arrange for some surprise ammenities in... More

I booked this hotel blind. I had no idea until after booking if it would be a good choice. It was a great one. Located just 2.5 blocks from Grand Central Station, I was able to get around the city with ease. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are a bit small, as expected in the cty. The... More

This would never be my first choice, ten minute walk off the beaten track, but those times when nothing is available under $400, this is a more than acceptable option. Rooms a bit small and in my case what sounded like elevator related noise, but earplugs supplied by front desk together with comfortable bed made all ok.

We are sorry that we won't be your first choice, but we do appreciate that we are a more than acceptable option for you. Just a reminder that we are only 2 blocks from Grand Central Terminal, so not so far off the beaten track. Thanks for writing and for being our guest. More

We arrived before check-in and the staff was very helpful. Our luggage was stored and Kevin Law, at the front desk, gave us suggestions for lunch. I had booked through Priceline and needed a room with two beds. Evidently this hotel only has 12 rooms with two double beds. This was a bit disappointing. Kevin did get us a room... More

For anyone who wants to be close to Grand Central and not be in the thick of the crowds, this is a nice quiet goral. Older rooms like this "live" better than some of the new boutique hotels where it seems you can hardly turn around in the room.

I've stayed at Hilton Manhattan East on a number of occasions. Each of the rooms are unique and probably attributed to the architecture of the original Tudor Hotel. Because it is located right on 42nd Street, I found the location to be very convenient. Nearby is Grand Central Station. Close to the subways. Rather than eating in the restaurant, I... More

You learn never to expect much from hotels in older parts of the city. This, the former Tudor (in Tudor City in Midtown East) is a block away from the UN, needless to say a high price zip code! The staff was kind enough to upgrade us to a junior suite, as it would have been a scene from a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
