A good base for exploring Manhattan. Bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped. However don't be mis-led by the photo on the website of an open air terrace with views of the city - the hotel doesn't have one! That disappointment aside, we were very happy with our stay.

Dear Terryniel, Thank you for the great review of our hotel. We actually just changed all of our beds recently and it has been a huge hit with our guests. As for the open air terrace we of course have those views however they are only with our balcony rooms. Not every room has a balcony but if you do... More

Great location fairly close to Grand Central Station and Times Square. A quiet area and felt safe walking around by myself. Rooms are clean and tidy. Would stay there again. Within walking distance to the empire state building. Nice restaurants close to the hotel.

Had a very good stay at Hilton Manhattan East hotel, the room was smaller than expected and the decor and bathroom suite could do with updating but the beds were comfortable and the room was very clean, we had a coffee machine and full size tv, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, free wifi and a safe in the room.We decided... Dear Chippie01, Thank you for the excellent review of our property. We try to do our best to keep our breakfast prices competitive with other buffets in the area. I would certainly recommend on you next visit to have the breakfast included in your rate as you end up saving a lot of money. Freddie is an excellent addition to... More

Loved the hotel from when we first arrived, room was ready before check-in time. Room was very spacious and clean, which included a jacuzzi bath, bed was huge! We were given complimentary Champagne and chocolate strawberries for my partner's birthday. The hotel is 15 mins walk from Times Square and 5 mins away from Grand Central Station. I would highly... Quaint, rather small rooms, fine for solo traveller, comfortable and quiet. Very good location with easy access to subway and to JFK. Very friendly staff, efficient and helpful. My only real complaint was the wifi was useless, i hardly managed to connect (three devices, none worked consistently) and even after connecting would disconnect again. Gave up in the end and... Dear johne999a, Thank you for the amazing review of our property. The location is excellent for any traveler given our centralized placement in Manhattan. As for the wifi that is strange to hear as we actually just upgraded our system completely a few months ago. I'll be sure to check the access points in the room you stayed in. Best... More

I was in Manhattan for one night and was attributed room 1814, a smallish suite on the 18th floor. My worst nightmare is when I forget to pack travel slippers and there were none in the room ... The bed was as usual very comfortable with a very nice a roomy bathroom. The lounge part of the suite was deceptively... More

This is a small historic hotel near 42nd and 2nd Ave. Great location - accessible, but away from hustle bustle. We found the staff to be exceptional and our room to be a little hideaway after busy days or evenings. It's a suite set-up and it was nice to have room that you normally don't get in a NYC hotel.... The hilton manhattan hotel is a good experience with the below pros: -good location, very close to grand central -cozy -room is wider than lots of NYC small rooms The only drawback was that the AC was very loud and making some sudden noises and not operating normally. Other than this it was a great stay.

This is a historic hotel in the heart of the city, and although we hit alot of obsticles on the first day the staff went above and beyond with lovely cusotmer service and showed such kindness to our daughter with a beautiful robe and a rose left in our room to help celebrate her 16th birthday. Please note that the... More

Suite based hotel, booked by chance after a bad experience in mid town. A little dated, but nice large rooms and great and friendly staff. This is not a cutting edge trendy hotel, but it is well worth a try if you want a Manhattan experience at a good price.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
