From arrival to leaving we had a great experience, the front desk staff were polite and knowledgable and very helpful throughout our stay, the room had a great view of the Empire State Building, really comfy bed. The Jazz restaurant was a great place to eat and enjoy the music. The hotel is in midtown so it's within easy reach... More

Dear Huggy1953, The staff of The Kitano and I are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and had time to see some great Jazz in our club. On your next visit to NYC, please ask for a view of The Chrysler Building, so you can get another angle on our spectacular city. Looking forward to serving you again. Clement... More

Gracious, relaxing, central place to stay in New York. The hotel staff were kind and knowledgeable. Close to Grand Central Station and the subway, we were able to spend one day in the financial district and one day on the park. We have made the Kitano our choice for weekends in the city.

We stayed at Kitano March 28-31, 2014 and had a great experience. The hotel is just a short walk to Grand Central Station, so we were able to take the subway anywhere our feet couldn't. We were a little nervous since this is a smoking hotel and we are non-smokers. But our room on the non-smoking floor was clean and... More

We stayed here last week for 2 nights. The hotel and room are very clean. It's a good enough location, we walked with young children to Times Square. We asked for a room with a nice view and got one, view of Empire State Building which is v nice esp at night time. The kids loved the toilet, the heated... More

This hotel was perfect for us. Clean, large rooms and a very nice staff. The only negative would be that the bathrooms floors are too slippery. Be careful! The must use a super wax. Hotel is close to the subway . It was a great location for all our activities.

Good sized, well appointed room. Exemplary staff service. A good base that is close to Grand Central Station. Be aware, taxis can be difficult for the Concierges to hail between 5-7 in the evening. I didn't go to the Jazz club but did enjoy the sounds from the lobby whilst accessing wi-fi (you have to pay extra for wi-fi in... More

Stayed at the Kitano for 10 days on the beginning of March. Being the first time in New York I was looking for a good location in Manhattan, not far from public transportation access. We arrived late at night so there was no doorman to receive our luggage, so we walked in directly to the counter. Check in was fast... More

We saw a mystery hotel from a booking site and ended up here! We got a great deal for 4days/3nights of stay. The lobby is great, though not as grand as other big names hotel but its so homey (good thing!!) it's not intimidating... Our room is located on the 5th floor, no view but its near the elevator which... More

We stayed here for 6 nights. We were on the 5th floor the 1st night and asked if we could be moved the next morning, as we found the room to be a little dark because the light was being blocked by nearby buildings. The staff were very helpful in accommodating our request, and within an hour we were able... More
