My new wife and I loved staying at the Kitano Hotel. The rooms were modern and efficient with a wonderful bed, shower, bidet, and nice view of the city from the 6th floor. Attention was paid to every detail and we felt relaxed and very comfortable here. It was pleasant to walk through the door after awful delays at JFK... More

First off, when we asked to check in,front staff told me the room was not ready yet. But we were informed that checking in was available after 3:00pm and it was already 5:30 pm. We ended up waiting 10 or so minutes at the front sofa. Next, when we came in to room we recognized that there was long brown hair on... More

This hotel was located two blocks from Grand Central station, close to subways and a few blocks from Empire State Building. We were pleasantly surprised with the upscale simplicity of the hotel for the affordable rate. Service was excellent at all times of day. The week we were in NYC was extremely hot and humid, but the room stayed very... More

The Kitano is a lovely quiet clean hotel on Park Avenue. The bedrooms were very comfortable with unobtrusive air conditioning which was needed as it was very hot when we were there. Had fun trying the toilet and now I want one with washing and drying capabilities. We did not use the bar because of the cover charge, nor did... More

After rushing about New York for a day it was very nice to step into the Kitano and enjoy the calm and quietude (and air conditioning). The location is fantastic with Grand Central just up the road. Rooms were reasonably spacious, very clean and the Japanese toilet was quite an experience... Very comfortable beds and we were (just) able to... More

We spent there 5 nights during our stay in New York last Christmas. Staff very friendly and attentive, room comfy and nice view to Manhattan. Lovely stay. Close to main attractions of New York. Lovely hotel, food good. Expensive but worth to stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our honeymoon. Staff were excellent, from smiley reception girls to helpful doormen to Kenji on guest services and the guys on the breakfast service, all were professional and really lovely. The hotel is cool and calm, the location on Park Ave was quite a contrast to our first hotel near Times... More

The Kitano was everything we could ask for a NY visit. Quiet, clean, helpful staff, great location near Grand Central. It was an easy and pleasant walk to the theater district, and if we needed to go farther afield, we took the subway from Grand Central. The friends we traveled with said great things about the jazz in the hotel... More

We booked two rooms in my second stay at the Kitano. This time, we took our whole family with a premium double room overlooking the Empire State Building and a superior king room. Both rooms were clean, comfortable, and well furnished. Housekeeping was meticulous as well as the hotel staff, helpful and courteous. My only complaint was the 9th floor... More

The Kitano is a lovely hotel located on beautiful Park Avenue. The staff is friendly and provided assistance to us on sightseeing, eating establishments and directions. Each day, we walked to the Empire State Building for our Hop-on-Hop-off bus. We also walked to Grand Central Station several times for shopping and dining. I would have given this hotel 5* if... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
