I reviewed this hotel a few years ago, and thought it was time for an update. The Kitano continues to be my hotel of choice when I stay overnight in Manhattan. It is a very tranquil hotel exuding an understated elegance. There are a lot of pro's to staying at this hotel but it may not be for everyone. PRO's:... More

We stayed here last week and were very impressed. The location was amazing, right near Grand Central station so we could walk everywhere. The hotel staff were helpful, the room was lovely (we were expecting a much smaller room as we'd heard was the norm in NYC) and loved the toilet!! We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I stayed one week at the Kitano in New York City and found the location to be really nice, great access to transportation and centrally located. The staff was more than proficient in the requests I made of them and truly made me feel comfortable. They were very knowledgable and friendly. I requested a corner room with a view of... More

We booked thought bookit.com and got an excellent rate. We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel was close to Times Square, Broadway, and Grand Central Station. On day 3 we were given a complementary fruit platter, which was very thoughtful. The bidet was... More

What a great hotel, recommended by my travel agent (Trailfinders) really impressive lobby, great room, even a heated toilet seat! Attentive staff at breakfast with good selection to suit all. Close to the fantastic Grand Central station as well as 5th Avenue and walking distance to the Subway. If visiting NYC, please check out this hotel.

Very nice place to spend a night at NYC! Good beds, silent rooms and a nice AC. Japanese toilet is a nice touch. Decoration is a bit dated, but other than that very pleasant stay. Location is also ideal. Will be back!

Spent two nights at the Kitano and everything was perfect. They let us check in at 10:30am with not problem and check out one hour late as well. The location is the best, near the subway, Fifth Avenue, many neighborhood restaurants on Lexington and 3rd Avenues. The room was exceptionally quiet, we never heard even a beeping horn. All the... Great location three blocks from grand Central and only two blocks from my office. The hotel is quiet. Easy in and out. No fuss no muss. The front desk is functional. No security at the elevator (no key required) in case that is of interest. Elevators are quite but I always request farthest form elevator. there is an in-residence jazz... More

We stayed here for four nights and were very happy with our stay. The staff at front desk very friendly and welcoming. The room was very spacious for NYC and had all the usual facilities, even a brolly incase of any rain! The room was very quiet, no traffic noises, and we were lucky to have a view of the... More

We were very very satisfied with our trip to The Kitano in New York. Everybody we encountered at the front desk was very polite and professional, they even upgraded our room because it was our honeymoon, and provided us with a complimentary bootle of wine. Room service was great. If we ever go back to New York we will definitely... More
