I really want to write a good review but the little things let it down. Nice and friendly but one room had poor air conditioning. Toilet was fantastic One of the bell men was laughably hopeless and the other one later was great. Generally not bad but would not go back.

Overall we really enojyed staying at the Kitano hotel in Newq York. It was in an ideal location not far from all of the major sights. The room was spacious (a superior king room) and had a spacious bathroom with a fancy toilet!! The hotel happily stored our bags prior to checking in as we arrived early. The hotel lobby... More

Very impressed by the style, facilities and location of this hotel. Presumably under oriental management with around 50% of customers and staff being Japanese. For jazz lovers they have live music several evenings a week Staff very helpful and courteous

We stayed here for a girls birthday/shopping weekend in March 2010. The Kitano is in a great location, perfect to walk everywhere but nice and quiet too. We had a great corner room so fantastic views! Would recommend and return.

I stayed 2 nights at the Kitano after spending a night at the langham in Chicago and it was a bit of a shock to the system. From a clean room with a good bathroom and good amenities/gym etc, I ended up in a shoebox (not abnormal for ny so I was expecting it), cheap bed, cheap sheets, average service,... More

We were on our honeymoon and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The guy on the front desk was very helpful and reminded me of Christopher walken which I found amusing! They left a personalised greeting card signed by all the staff in our room with some chocolate covered strawberries. The room was lovely.... More

The kitano is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in in nyc, the room I received was enormous, huge bedroom, king bed, so comfortable, enormous granite and tile bAthroom, staircase and insanely large living room. (Am I reallyin nyc??) Staff was polite friendly and professional.

We had a wonderful experience at the Kitano hotel. We arrived at 8am after a overnight flight from Portland with two exhausted children who hadn't slept. We had called the day before to try to book a room for the day but they were full. However, the receptionist (I'm sorry not to remember her name as she was outstanding) went... More

Is a very comfortable hotel, excellent location, service is warm and nice. We had a great experience when visiting NY. Totally recomedable, specially for couples and also for executives. Jazz shows sound great at the restaurant.

Superb hotel, great location. We were upgraded to a room over looking Park Avenue. Managed to get an adjacent room for my children which worked well. Free Wi-Fi. Park Avenue is a bit quieter than 5th Ave. close to grand central station. Would return again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
