We stayed at the Excelsior from 4th May 2013 to 9th May 2013. Its not much to look at from the outside but oozes character from the lobby onwards. What a wonderful way to start our trip in New York. I feel in love with this gem of a hotel and what a great size for New York. I a perfect location to great restaraunts and Central Park. This is not your high end full service anything you want and could possibly need type of hotel. But if you want to spend some time close to central park at a relatively reasonable price, this hotel offers a convenient reasonable option.

Nice clean hotel, located next to Central Park, 30 minute walk from times square, upon received upgrade to museum view room 1605 absolutely great view of Manhatton skyline by day and night. nice area for restaurants and museums. Would stay here again.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The rooms were nicely decorated and they were very clean. The bathroom looked like it had just been re-modeled with new tile, etc. The rooms are extremely small but we never felt cramped. The price is fair for NYC. We just returned from our first visit to nyc and loved the Excelsior Hotel. The location is fabulous for those who want a clean, comfy place that is not is a high noise touristy area. Steps to Central Park, restaurants, pubs and a beautiful neighbourhood. The staff, especially Candace, is absolutely fabulous!
