Ok, so you have to pay for the wifi. Nowadays that is a small minus but we could live with it. You have several restaurants close by where you can get free wifi and if it is that important to you then I guess 10 $ a day isn't that bad (it's even cheaper if you buy it as a... More

We booked a very affordable room with two twin beds, last minute, and were given a completely adorable and comfortable room with three twins, one of them in a side room, a sort of little suite, facing 31st Street. The ceilings are high, with ornate 19th century molding, and blue-green toile wallpaper. We even like the tiny tiled bathroom with... More

Stayed here with a school group from Scotland in mid June. The hotel is excellent value for money. The location is so central, Empire State Building is literally just a couple of blocks around the corner, with Macy's & Herald square just a few blocks away too. Easily walkable to Times Sq, Rockefeller Centre, St Pats Cathedral and although 20+... More

Very friendly and helpfull staff. The rooms are big and clean. The housekeeping cleaned everyday and replaced all the used towels everyday as well. The beds slept perfectly and no noises were heard during the night. It's a peacefull and quite hotel. The location is perfect! View from the room on the empire state building, which is Just two blocks... More

This is a good hotel for a citytrip to New York. Free coffee or tea in the morning with a nice muffin. Service of the hotel is good and they help you out with everything! Location of the hotel is near the Empire State.

Business trip. It's in Korea Town and "a stone's throw" from Manhattan. Public transport easy. And Penn Station so close–takes you anywhere you want to go in NYC and surrounds. Very close to Empire State Building. Hotel itself: Great staff. Friendly. Helpful. Very clean rooms. (I didn't find my room too small but I'm use to NYC and EU rooms.... More

The Wolcott is very centrally located - close to Penn Station, Herald Square and the Empire State Building and with easy walking or subway access to New York's many attractions. Importantly for the budget conscious traveller, it is also surrounded by cheap eateries. The foyer of the old building is spectacular; the staff are efficient, helpful and polite. It has... More

Probably a 3-star but I'm giving it 4 based on location, friendly staff, and nice room. Finding a good hotel on a budget in NY can be a challenge, but Wolcott Hotel exceeds it's budget rating. Well run and managed, friendly staff (everyone greets you and seems to mean it), helpful concierge. Love the old style lobby and architecture, coffee... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
