This hotel is in a great location. There's a lovely wine bar opposite, a nice Irish pub down the road (which does great food) and you're literally 2 minutes walk from the Empire State Building. Yes the hotel is a bit tired, the rooms aren't amazing and the air con is a little noisy but who comes to nyc to... More

This hotel does not feature in any of the guidebooks but it should! It was booked for us by a travel agent and described as basic so our expectations were not high. I am delighted to say it was better than basic! Yes it is a little dated but as one of the oldest hotels in Midtown Manhattan that is... More

My last trip to the Big Apple was in 2006, and that vacation stayed at Greenwich Village, so this time around we thought we'd stay a little more midtown. Travelling with my wife and teenage son, we didn't know what quite to expect with regards the room, as we had booked a triple occupancy room. On arrival, the check in... More

A friend and I travelled here and just fell in love with it. It's old, but clean and has a really neat atmosphere that far surpasses the feel of a chain hotel. Right near the base of the Empire State Building, we enjoyed the location and would stay again.

Been to NYC several times and stayed at the wolcott twice. As others have said, it is a lovely old building and housekeeping and reception staff have been great both times we have stayed. Each time we have stayed as a family with 3 rooms so have experience of several rooms. Each time they have been very spacious although the... More

The hotel is 100 years old and the decoration is a proof of it ! The furniture is old too, but all the room and the plublics spaces are really clean. We had e three simple bed bedrooms and it was perfect for three girls, the room wasn't too small, but not big too. The hotel served a majority of... More

Have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. The hotel is ideally located for all the sites of Manhattan, most within walking distance. As other reviews have said, it is an old hotel, but that is all part of the charm. Our room was small but adequate for our needs as we were out most of the... More

Its an easy walk from Penn Station, and adjacent to the Empire State Building. My room was 1202, 12th floor up, and on the back side. The windows did open (for us smokers), however, there were no screens so it was an abrupt drop down just outside the open window. There also wasnt alot of hot water, or it seemed... More

Good deal for the money. Be sure to ask regarding smoking floors. They did not ask me and we wound up on smoking floor which reeked, however the room did not smell at all. Beds comfy, bathroom spotless. Staff friendly-ish enough. Muffins from 6:30 -10:30 in AM were edible....BUT the coffee was only served with SKIM milk. Eeeeewwww. Lobby with... More

Just got back from New York having spent 5 days there for our daughters 21st birthday. For our visit we opted to stay at the Wolcott Hotel and have to say it as a very pleasant visit. As other people have said the Hotel looks very old and is indeed is very old and could do with a spruce up... More
