What I loved about this hotel (and we have stayed here on both of our trips to NYC) was the grand entrance and the spacious rooms. Staff was very helpful too. Breakfast is just a plate of muffins-to-go served with coffee but than again....it is complementary so it's more of a service than anything else.

I've just returned from a visit to Hotel Wolcott, first thing I have to say is the location is very good, it's our first time in New York as this Hotel is right next to the Empire state building it's easy to find (no matter how lost we got). The rooms are nice a little dated but for what we... More

We had a nice room overlooking the street, it was quiet and very comfortable. looking forward to staying here again. We also found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The morning coffee and muffins was a great touch as we were able to get on with out day that much quicker. Also cannot beat the location, was an easy walk... More

I met my daughters (ages 25 and 27) for a weekend of food and museums. They loved the location and the ornate lobby. The muffins and coffee were a good way to start the day. The location was excellent and we had a great dinner in Koreatown one night. The price was affordable and it was close to the bus... More

The hotel itself is great. Walking in is absolutely beautiful, if you like old and charming. Granted the rooms are small, but the staff are great and the area is superb. We had an absolutely great time in NYC and enjoyed coming back to this hotel every night to get some shut eye.

The main positive of this hotel were that it was in a great location, right behind the Empire State Building in Mid town. The foyer was pretty, free coffee and muffin in the morning. Negatives far outweighed these. My husband and I had several cold showers due to the hot water not working periodically, this was late December so freezing... More

Old hotel but with large bedrooms. Tiny bathroom. Friendly personel. Muffins are a treat. Also the newspapers. Very good location. In the cellar is a washing machine and a dryer. Lots of art deco elements. A bit dusty.

The hotel is in a good location, however needs some attention. I am am aware the style of the hotel is old-worldy and that works in the lobby etc however the rooms just look old and dated. That is not something that would normally bother me too much however the hotel is very noisy as the windows are of poor... More

Loved this hotel The only negative thing I can say was that there was no free Wifi. Not essential but when you're on an extended trip like we were you need to keep on top of emails and it's helpful when you need to sort airline check in issues ( there was a business centre on the 2nd floor) It... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
