my friend and I stayed here for 4 nights for my birthday and we are so glad we did! Fab staff fab service and they honoured our requests via email before we arrived. We stayed in room 1220 and it had the most perfect view of the Empire State Building! Room was immaculately clean and nice and cosy. Fab walk... More

we stayed during the New Years period of 2014/2015. Upon landing in NYC the airline misplaced my luggage. When we arrived at the hotel we informed staff we were expecting our bags to be delivered that night. As soon as we woke the following morning one of our two pieces of luggage had arrived. The staff took it upon themselves... More

The Wolcott Hotel is an old-fashioned hotel with pluses and minuses. Pluses include its location- a short walk to Penn Station, Times, Square, etc. Also, the rooms are relatively large for NYC. The staff seemed helpful if not always the friendliest. We were in a room at back of hotel and it was quiet. Muffins and coffee were provided free... More

We just stayed 2 nights at Wolcott Hotel for family holiday. Really appreciate this hotel for its cleanliness and spacious room that we hardly find at others hotels in the heart of Big Apple. The staff was helpful. We really love the European decor style of Wolcott Hotel, it looks like we are staying in Rome or Venezia. No available... More

Stayed here 1/5/15-1/7/15 during hotel week. Never heard of this wonderful old hotel on 31st st. Very ornate lobby. Free breakfast (muffins & coffee) every morning. We didn't care for the first room& the staff quickly moved us to a terrific room. This hotel is spotless. Staff is great.

Hotel is beautiful it is old and could do with some refurbishment in places, found front desk staff to be extremely helpful and assisting when required, found concierge to be unhelpful and uninterested on multiple occasions with multiple different staff, but overall a great place to stay and base yourself in NYC , don't change the entry it's stunning 😉... The Walcott is a stunning, if slightly faded example of the architectural style beau arts. It is well placed in midtown for all the shopping and sightseeing you want to do in Manhattan. Aside from the building itself we found the staff really friendly and helpful. We turned up at midnight after an awful experience with Delta Airlines and were... More

I've been to New York a few times and I chose the Wolcott this year after doing my usual research into midtown hotels rates. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. I was struggling with Jet Lag so asked for a room higher up that got more light and wasn't disappointed - ended up with the most amazing... More

This is a lovely old hotel that has retained a lot of the charm of the early 1900s when it was built. After you stay here, you will never be tempted by the chain hotels nearby. The rates are very reasonable and even more so during hotel week in January. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
