We have stayed many places in Manhattan and found AKA Central Park to be one of the better choices. It is in a nice new building between 5th and 6th. The junior executive suite was spacious (for NYC) and complete with a kitchenette. The two large walk-in closets were nice but the space could have been better used in the... More

We stayed at the AKA the first week of June, in a deluxe 1 bedroom. We chose AKA as we prefer to have a separate living area - one of us gets up very early and it is nice to have a place to work/watch tv while the other is still sleeping. Our first room was on the 4th floor... More

Stayed here for 7 nights. Great location to be based when visiting the city, 2 mins from Central Park & 5th Avenue. First class service from the staff at the front desk. Had the 1 bedroom suite which was great, really spacious. Hotel itself was quiet, but a bit of noise from the street, but being in central Manhattan should... More

I lived here two nights and the only thing is good to me is the location, 2 mins by walking to Central Park and 5th ave is steps away, the room size is very big, it's bigger than normal manhattan 1 bedroom apartment, so, I think the size worths the fare, it's about $550/ night after the tax, however, the... It was my first time visiting New York City and I was shocked at the prices of most hotels around the upscale area near the Apple Store. When I found this place, I was impressed with the pictures and the prices that were offered. The hotel is diagonally opposite The Plaza Hotel of Home Alone fame, conveniently located in the... More

This is the best base-station to visit New York! Ideally located; 300 metres away from Central Park (ideal to practice your morning runs), opposite of a delicious bakery shop, close by multiple subway stations (within 200 metres) and at walking distance of several sightseeing hotspots (Rockeffeller's center, 5th avenue, Broadway, Times Square, Moma,... and there is more! The hotel itself... More

It is a hotel without luxury, good for my age and means. Excellent location on 58th St between 5th and 6th Ave. near Central Park South. Metro and bus nearby and many good restaurants within walking distance. The staff of this hotel is friendly and ready to help ,whatever you need. Also the kitchen in rooms is convenient if you... Just loved my one bed room apartment ! The layout and amenities are just right . The staff is friendly and always willing to assist . I found the location perfect. I could conveniently walk to MET and MOMA. On one hand you could walk into the hustle and bustle of 5th Avenue in no time, on the other hand... More

Super staff, nothing was too much trouble. Good sized rooms, with the added bonus of kitchen area. We loved the idea of a private cinema in the evening, we had it to ourselves on both occasions we used it. To sum up, nice people plus nice place equals nice time! Patrick

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
