5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here a few years back the second week of December. The place was gorgeous, clean and the staff couldn't do more to help. I'm from the UK and I went over for an audition and they were so lovely helping me with directions, letting me use their phone and they also got me a cupcake for my birthday!... More

I'm really surprised by the rave reviews, to be honest. I didn't see the value here. For a four-star hotel, this was a huge let down. Rooms are very outdated, with peeling wall paper and what may have been some mold on the ceiling. No fan in the bathroom. No insulation from the street noise, so our party didn't sleep... More

I've stayed on E. 50th St or close by for years, and recently finding my most frequent hotel down the block getting quite dog-eared while maintaining or raising prices I spotted and tried the San Carlos. Am I impressed! Everything was spacious and very clean. For the same cost of the dog-eared room down the block I had a junior... More

This was a perfectly good hotel. Staff helpful when asked. Rooms comfortable. Nice to have a complimentary breakfast which was more than adequate Though we often went to Ess--bagel round the corner to bring back some of their delicious bagels to eat with the breakfast laid on.

When traveling with young kids you must do a research before arriving to a hotel where your little ones will pass the night, after reading all the reviews my husband and I decided to go for this one, price is not high, location worked for us, we did not need to be close to any specific location, we walked from... We spent 5 nights at the San Carlos the week before Christmas. The rooms were beyond large. In fact the one bedroom was larger than most one bedroom apartments in New York. This is not an over the top elegant hotel. It's a very clean, functional, comfortable, extremely well located, reasonably priced hotel in midtown. I would highly recommend it... More

I stood one week with a friend and it was a really good experience, it was really easy to find and since we arrive the service at the front desk was really good, the bedroom was really big and the bed really comfortable. We were staying in West Point with our cousins since 12/30/2015 and they surprised us with reservations for New Years Eve in New York City. We wanted to stay outside the craziness of Time Square and this location was great since we had reservations in Little Italy for dinner on 12/31/2015. The hotel was Excellent!!! Everyone from the front desk,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
