We stayed at the Roger for 5 nights in May 2015 whilst visiting the city for the first time. Having booked through Mr and Mrs Smith about 6 months previously (and having completed lots of research) we managed to secure a very good deal. On arrival at the Roger after a 10.30 flight to JFK our bags were sorted before... More

The Roger Hotel is quaint, great staff and the location can't be beat. The room is small even by New York standards; just room for a bed, finding space for my suitcase was even a challenge. Working at the desk and watching the ball game, couldn't be done. Choose one. If you don't plan on spending any time in your... More

We stayed here recently for four nights, great place to stay. We were fortunate enough to have a room in the penthouse which had a terrace looking up at the Empire State Building. We could sit outside and sip some wine and eat some nibbles after a hard days shopping. Absolutely perfect, professional staff and very attentive and perfect location.

Stayed here with my Husband last week. Loved the room, ask for a quiet side or back room up high as al rooms on Mad Avenue can be street noisy. Rooms were recently re done so they are nice. Location is fantastic. Close to Herald Square, Penn Station and Park Ave and the 6 train. You can walk everywhere. One... More

I was very impressed with my experience at The Roger. It's located in a fairly quiet section of Madison Avenue. It's a short walk to Madison Square Park. You're within walking distance to Grand Central, Penn Station and Union Square. You enter the front of the hotel and there's a small lounge area and bar, where the crowd is reserved... More

I would totally stay here again! The staff, especially Jaime at the front desk was extremely friendly and professional. She (Jaime) made me feel at home in the hotel and her daily greetings and interactions were genuine and pleasant. I was in a King room which for New York was quite spacious. They're usually between 320 to 350 Sq Ft.... More

This is a hotel perfect to explore the city. A block away from Empire State Building and close to Flat Iron District. Loads of local restaurants and shops, with tips given to us by concierge. Rooms are comfy and we'll presented. Hotel is not big, but decor is lovely, and inviting. Staff are fantastic, and are a credit to the... More

The location of the Roger is great and for being right on Madison Ave, is very quiet. The staff were very friendly, made you feel very welcome and were helpful esp the doormen. Rooms are a little small and bathrooms are minsicule. I stayed for 2 nights while in NYC on business and the rooms were smaller than other hotels... More

I really like this hotel. everything you need. nothing you don't. The waiter in the restaurant always remembers my name and my room number - which makes it feel so much warmer. comfortable and nice. And you can see where you are going - unlike so many NY hotels which seem to be in pitch darkness at all times of... More

Had an excellent experience at the Roger. Great looking hotel with a good staff. No attitude to wade through (I'm looking at you Ace). Room was comfortable and quiet. Great remodel on the bathrooms. I didn't get to try the breakfast on site, but it looked fantastic. Next time. It's right in the middle of things if you're in NY... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
