Good central location. Reasonable price, room was adequate, not exciting or extremely fancy. The bathroom was very small. Enjoyed the limited breakfast buffet each morning and the informal atmosphere. I would stay here again for the location.

On Valentine's weekend, even this hotel was expensive and so my expectations were fairly high. The lobby is modern, bustling and inviting, but the rooms do not fulfill that promise of comfort. The rug was dingy and the décor clearly showed wall paneling for two double beds, in a room with a pullout couch and one double bed. Most rooms... More

I stayed at The Roger for two days while I was visiting the city. It was truly a lovely experience, and I would highly recommend it to everyone. The desk staff was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The bar staff was great, and the room itself was super comfortable and clean. I would love to go back in the summer.... More

This may be room dependent, but since I can only make an assessment based on my stay, take it for what it's worth. For the record, I stayed in room 1012. If you like a room that is as dimly lit as a medieval dungeon, then consider staying here. To put it in perspective, with all the lights turned on... More

We've stayed at the Roger about 5 or 6 times over the last few years, and it's always a pleasure to go back. The doorman and bellhop have remembered us each time we've visited, not an expectation in a large city, but the staff as a whole are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the breakfast... More

midtown manhattan area, near the empire state building, unpretentious front, interior nicely decorated... comfy room, nice color combo.. its not the typical chain hotel furniture. staff are really friendly. what more can you ask for when staying in nyc? go. enjoy. just alert housekeeping if you are staying late. they dont knock, just enter. but quietly.

Our room was not the largest of rooms, but in NYC, you don't go to stay in your room, it made up for it as we were on the top floor with a large terrace that overlooked the Empire State Building. Can you ask for anything better than that? Depending on the time of year that you go - splurge... More

A friend and I stayed here for a long weekend in November. The location is good, it's midtown where nothing much is going on but within easy reach of uptown and downtown New York, so great if you want to travel all over the city to explore. There's a metro station within walking distance too. The rooms are lovely, but... More

I had a perfect stay at this elegant hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and gave warm and personal service. The lobby is lovely and contemporary with a twist - feels like the Crosby in Soho, classy but with personality. The room was large, comfortable and well-appointed with a great bathroom. I appreciate that they use large refillable... More

We had a really comfortable stay at the Roger on a cold night in NYC. The lobby was modern and spacious and had a warm carafe of hot cider- a very nice touch. We had a room with 2 double beds to accommodate a second couple we were with- for NYC, the room was spacious and didn't feel cramped. Bathroom... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
