Spent the weekend at the Roger, in Penthouse 5. It is worth the extra money to book a penthouse - they come with lovely terraces. While the room was small, it was very well organized and had everything we needed. Shower was awesome- sink very small but who cares? I would rather have the larger shower in a hotel. There... More

This is my fourth trip to 'The Big Apple' and each time I come I still find this city very exciting. However something is happening that all should know. The first thing in 'The Resort Fee' this disgraceful charge was dropped by hotels after 911 when tourism declined however now tourism is on the increase and the city feels more... More

Great hotel, Phillip on reception was lovely on check in. Our room was spacious, good bathroom with powerful shower and piping hot water. The bed was heaven and despite being in a corner room on Madison ave the room was so quiet and I had probably the best 5 nights sleep ever. Snacks and mini bar expensive, but that is... More

very disappointed. Got there at 6:00 pm and room wasn't ready, took at least an hour. Booked two double-beds and their version is one and a sofa sleeper (not what photos showed!). Was told it was based on availability...booked room MONTHS IN ADVANCE. No hot water and that took hours to resolve. Too many hotels in NYC to choose from... More

Dear 1bonjovi, I am very sorry to hear of your experience at our hotel. This is certainly not acceptable or the norm. We do indeed have rooms with two beds and I regret that we did not have that for you when you checked in. I would like to make it up to you so please be kind enough to... More

It was my first time in NY, a woman alone in the big city for a business trip, I really wanted a place to feel like home, my colleagues warmly recommended and when I saw the website and the lobby I felt already great. So I arrived after 12 hours flight at 7am and I was greeted so warmly from... More

Dear Zahar A, Thank you for your kind words about the hotel. Yes we do indeed have both a nice staff and great guests! Too bad that you had to spend so much time working. I hope that you make it back to New York again soon and can enjoy the great shopping and dining. All the best, Jeff Hentze... More

The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The room was a lovely little jewel box in the middle of the flatiron district. The barman made the perfect Old Fashioned and my chopped salad was wonderful. All in all a wonderful hotel with old world city style service and atmosphere. I can't wait to stay again.

Dear Mary EllenB8, I am glad that you enjoyed your time with us. We do think the lobby is a great place to relax and our bar team can mix some great classical cocktails. I hope to see you back with us again soon. Warm regards, Jeff Hentze General Manager More

I stay at the Roger very frequently. The hotel is just great, the rooms are very comfortable. BUT! It is the staff that make this place, especially Jenna, Elizabeth and Carolina. You must spend an hour or two at the bar talking to one of these lovely ladies :) The doormen are also great, really friendly, and cannot do enough... More

I frequently (almost weekly) stay at The Roger. Fantastic atmosphere, love the rooms but most important, the staff is fantastic. Being on the road every week, it's like having a home away from home. Highly recommend a stay and ask for Jenna or Tia at the bar.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
This June, The Roger is unveiling a sophisticated new look after extensive renovations of its public spaces and guest rooms. Standing at the crossroads of uptown and downtown off Madison Park, the new Roger is a marriage of chic design and old world comfort, while continuing an unyielding commitment to superior service. The fresh aesthetic of the Roger’s public spaces is curated by hospitality guru Steven Kamali and designed by the notable Anna Busta. A collaboration of renowned talent has distinguished a transitional hotel that caters to the demands of the modern traveler and local tastemakers alike. The vaulted lobby lounge provides an ideal space for any time of day or occasion, from morning business meetings to lunch with family, or catching up over cocktails with friends. To update the spacious guest rooms, the Roger tapped Annette Jaffe of MSM, whose timeless original design has kept travelers returning year after year. Jaffe’s new rooms are characterized by lush custom pieces and applied moldings to naturally compliment the historic building’s unique rooms and inviting terraces. Whether for only a night or a weeks long stay, the Roger is the savvy traveler’s home away from home. ... more   less
