The roof terrace isn't too bad either, nice view down on the city life

I have stayed at the Roger Smith several times and never been disappointed. You get a lot of room for your NYC dollar and the staff has been incredible. Great location too!

We had a great experience at the Roger Smith Hotel- it’s in a great location near the UN and Rockefeller Center, and Grand Central is close by as well. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, including the bubbly young woman at the front desk who even let us have the book I was interested in from our room! Great... More

My girlfriend and I picked this hotel because of its convenient location and also because it was the cheapest hotel on Manhattan that wasn't a dump. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was a cute older building, was walking distance to everything we wanted, and we got it without shoveling out a huge price. The room was not... More

Stayed at this hotel for the Labor Day weekend (3 nights, 4 days). The hotel lobby is bright red with cool scuptures so very artsy. I was expecting a small tiny room but I was floored when I saw the size of the room. First it had the most comfortable 2 double beds (looked like king size to me), good... More

We got a Junior Suite from Priceline for $140 for 3 nights. We were surprised at the roominess. The door was sticking, but a guy came up within minutes and fixed it. The staff was very attentive. We were right across from the Waldorf and the entertainment was watching all the UN dignitaries and their entourage leaving. Only complaint was... More

Well to be honest I was very skeptical about staying here. I was able to book a Suite 4 blocks from Rockefeller Center for under $400 on a Saturday night. Upon checking my fears were put to rest. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and had me checked in and ready to go in 2 minutes. When... More

First night they put me (Asthmatic) in a smoking room without asking me. They then charged my credit card for the room rather than the company one provided before arrival. They made efforts to correct both problems, but unfortunately the errors were too big for me to leave a favorable review. Rooms are old, but clean. When the mini bar... More

You are greeted by "old friends". The staff at the RSH was certainly one of the most delightful groups I've ever witnessed in a hotel. Upon entering the lobby, Rafael is there to greet you either curb side or to assist you with your luggage. Next, Sophie will check you in within 20 seconds and you are off to your... More

My husband and I recently stayed at The Roger Smith Hotel. It was my husband's first trip to The Big Apple, so naturally I was a little nervous about how he would acclimate to the fast pace of New York after flying in from our small town in Texas. Once we walked in to the lobby of The Roger Smith... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
