Loved my stay at the Roger Smith. I have stayed there several times and the staff is always friendly and helpful and wuilling to go the extra mile. The hotel has a European vibe and the rooms are very comfortable and clean.

Me and my husband spent 10 nights at Roger Smith hotel, and just loved it's location: just a few steps from at least two tube stations (including de Grand Central, which is worthy of visit by itself...). Hop on hop off bus stop a half block away. Many good restaurants and bars on the surroundings, and also many shops within... More

Excellent location, reasonably comfortable rooms, cordial staff willing to help us on information and requests like getting a taxi for example. Smoke-free hotel provides a cleaner environment and stay.

The hotel was very nice to stay at. Helpful staff. Hotel had a nice warm feeling. Rooms were very clean and nicely furnished. It was my first stay in Manhattan and would definitely stay there again. Good location also at Lexington and 47th.

I stayed here for one night while I was in town to see a Broadway show. The hotel is very conveniently located in a super-safe neighborhood that has tons of restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, and shops. Very easy to find a cappuccino nearby! Also close to Grand Central Station, New York Public Library, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, and Fifth Avenue. My queen... More

Dear Mary M, We appreciate your feedback. With 131 rooms and all with their individual charm, there is only a handful with the four poster beds you stayed in. There is a regal flair about four poster beds, and I will ensure you are assigned one when you make plans for a return visit. I too, was intrigued with the... More

Clean. Conveniently located. Good service. Good bang for the buck. Thirteenth floor room overlooking Lexington Ave. was still noisy. Not sure if other rooms were better or worse. Yogurt and Granola available 24/7 in the lobby. Coffee in the room. Closet safe was a nice addition. Altogether, I paid half the rate of the Marriott 2 doors down so I... More

Very good hotel with good rooms and surrounded by nice multi cuisine restaurants and breakfast options in vicinity of the Waldorf Astoria, NY. I recommend the hotel for a short stay of 4-5 days for singles, couples and families.

Most corners of most rooms have some unique piece of art. Quirky combination that works. Lovely location, good breakfast, art everywhere (did I mention the art?), comfortable, convenient, all-around good-place-to-be-in-NYC location.

My wife and I spent two days in New York City and stayed at the Roger Smith Hotel. The facility, located in Midtown on Lexington Avenue at 47th Street, has about 150 rooms distributed over 16 floors. Original artwork abounds in the lobby. Our room (and the room of a friend who was also staying at the hotel) were "smallish"... More

Dear Scott_McCondless, Thank you for having spent your 2-nights stay in New York at the Roger Smith Hotel. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I must say that the natural light coming in from our rooms is inspiring, uplifting and beneficial to the live plants that adorn each room. As far as controlling your room temperature, the thermostat can be manually... More

We made last minute plans to stay at the Roger Smith on a Saturday night. Upon arriving we were upgraded to a sizable suite. The only problem was that the heat was set high and the suite was nearly stiffling. Management offered to send someone to adjust the heat (radiators) but we took care of it ourselves after being given... More

Dear 4ruth, We’re happy to have been able to accommodate you in one of our upgraded suites, I’m sure you were impressed with the size and space. Apologies if you felt an uncomfortable room temperature; The Roger Smith is a pre war building with a one pipe system for heating, which can be turned off individually in each room and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
