The Roger Smith Hotel is a perfect place to stay in NYC. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the accommodations are as well. If you are looking for a new, expensive, cutting-edge, high-end hotel with lots of bells and whistles, this isn't for you. But if you want a great place to put your head at night that is... More

The hotel is cosy, and it's situated in a great place, close to a lot of sights (Times Sq, Rockefeller, 5th. Av., Grand Central St. and so on). Also very close to Underground stations. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, The rooms are very large, for NYC standards. It's great that u can get free youghurt and granola in... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Roger Smith Hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Made us feel right at home. It was located in a great location in the city. The rooms were clean and roomy. We went to the "soft opening" of the roof top bar. It was reasonably priced for a glass of wine or beer.... More

The staff, the roof deck and nice linens + perfect location make this a good destination. However, the decor in our room, for an art hotel, was dowdy at best. The bathroom door was smudgy with finger prints; we had to poke around for a socket to plug in our chargers; the A/C wasn't plugged in and the dial was... More

It's not a glass and marble monolith, it's and old style, charming hotel on Lexington 2 blocks from the Chrysler Building. Let's be straight it is not new and will require an upgrade at some stage BUT it is a breath of fresh air in NY. Hotel staff were impeccable, friendly and helpful...and they care for something few hotels in... More

My wife and I stayed at the Roger Smith for our first trip together to NYC. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and comfortable. It was my first Manhattan hotel experience so I can't compare it to much, but I loved the feel of a well-maintained older building, once my wife and I... More

I stayed in the Roger Smith Hotel once again, and as always felt comfortable and at home. The granola and yogurt and apples offered in the lobby, and the fridge and coffee in the room, are a big plus. The room was spotless each day. The location can't be beat, an easy walk to the theater district and Grand Central... More

Very stylish hotel with a good location, but the walls in my room, 702, were paper thin and you could hear every single word spoken by the people next door as if they were in the room with you. Clearly, if you are interested in eavesdropping that's fine but if you want to get a good nights sleep, then less... More

Dear trip-chick-munich, Thank you for taking the time to review us. The room you stayed in is part of our newly updated projects and its great to hear from our guests that the style and décor is appealing . I am, however, sorry that the noise from the neighboring room was a disturbance. We recently added this room to our... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
