This was my second stay at the Chelsea Lodge, and I hope to stay here again. The Chelsea Lodge was first recommended to me by a local both for the location and the price. I've stayed in the lower garden queen suite both times. These units are not located in the same building where you check in, but I like... More

My partner and I stayed here recently in July 2015. This is a nice hotel in an excellent area for visiting NY! If you don't want the expense of a big hotel then this place is well located to get to the subway and visit all the major tourist spots and get around the city. Only coffee served in the... More

I've stayed in many rooms at the Chelsea Lodge and have had a great experience in all of them. Affordable, clean, quaint with easy access to the subway a few blocks away, lots of great restaurants around the corner, and a friendly staff. I travel to the city often for business and family, and have come back to the Chelsea... More

What a great place to stay in NYC. Fantastic Chelsea location. Easy walk to to other parts of the city, including the Highline. Metro close by. Rite-Aid conveniently located a few doors up the street at 8th Ave -- ideal for water, snacks, shampoo or whatever. The rooms, which have shower, sink & mirror, dresser, desk & closet (you feel... If you don't need all the luxury stars hotels can offer and don't mind to have the toilet on the floor (but shover and bathroom sink are in the room), this is the place for you. Located in one of the City best area, dowtown, near the Hudson River, the Meatpacking district and the Highline, it has a very nice,... More

We stayed at the Chelsea Lodge in June 2015 as it was close to the wedding venue of our nephew. The Lodge is an older building without an elevator but since I had my husband to lug my suitcase, it wasn't a problem. We stayed in the 'basement' area of the lodge. Our daughters had a room and we had... More

If you like the neighborhood and proximity to subways this is a great place to stay and cost effective. Owners are very friendly and rooms are very clean and comfortable. If you are new to NY this hotel offers New York advise from owners and a very reasonable approach to check in time.

Spent 8 days on a recent trip and this place made the whole trip a great experience. Location on 20th between 7th and 8th is fantastic and made getting around the whole city easy. The place is old and the rooms are small, but management insures a quiet and clean and well-kept place to stay. My room was on the... More

Loved this little place! Kind of a cross between a guesthouse and a hotel, great location for nyc could get to pretty much everywhere we wanted on foot! We stayed in the cheaoest rooms which were very small but that didn't matter! Had to share a toilet but each room had a toilet right next to it! Never had to... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
