We have just returned from a 2-week stay at a Garden in Chelsea in NYC. This apartment is located on the basement level of a heritage brownstone house in the historic district of Chelsea. The accommodation was fantastic and was a real highlight of our stay. The apartment is very well set up and includes a small kitchen, a huge... More

We stayed in the downstairs apartment for just under a week and it was perfect. What more could you ask for than a nice bed with good mattresses, a well-lit bathroom with a powerful warm shower, a couple of armchairs for when you need to put your feet up, a small kitchen for preparing tea and nibbles, a garden outside... My husband, daughter and I stayed in the 3rd floor apartment at ‘A Garden in Chelsea’ for 4 weeks from late December through to the end of January 2012. Karen and Paul were wonderful hosts and a wealth of knowledge from shopping tips (January shoe sales!!) to what shows to see. The apartment is close to the subway (2 stops... More

My partner and I stay in hotels a lot with our work, and were keen to immerse ourselves in something a little more 'homely'. The apartment met, and exceeded, our expectations, providing a comfortable place to 'hang our hats' while exploring New York. There is plenty of room in the apartment, a bed that is very inviting, a kitchenette to... More

We had the third floor apartment for a four-day weekend in November. Having a living room, kitchen and bedroom was so much nicer than staying in a hotel, especially since the bedroom was at the back where it was very quiet. There were family pictures on the walls, so we felt as if we were staying with friends, not in... More

My daughter and I stayed at A Garden in Chelsea over four days in November. We had the garden level double with twin beds. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room includes a kitchenette which we did not use, but would certainly serve for breakfast or lunch. The room was incredibly quiet--no... More

My girlfriend and I have stayed twice at the apartment and both times we have had a lovely stay. The apartment is situated in a wonderful Brownstone on a picturesque street in Chelsea. With a good sized bedroom and bathroom and large living area all beautifully furnished, it's a place you're happy to spend time and relax in. Karen who... More

This was perfect spot for our New York Safari! Brilliant location close to some fantastic restaurants, easy access to Public Transport, yet in a quiet spot! Karen our Host knows how to take care of her guests. We were travelling from Tanzania and making deposits etc were a challenge, Karen was very accomodating and patient. The room and garden at... A wonderful tucked away spot with all the comforts of home. The private courtyard is safe and a delight at the end of the day or a place to start your day! The owners have thought of everything that allows for a stay where you can settle into a safe and enjoyable room.

My husband and I stayed here with out 2 year old daughter 22nd june for 5 nights. Karen and Paul were very welcoming (despite us not arriving until midnight!) and were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The best feature for us was having the garden. It gave us the flexibility that a hotel room wouldn't with a young... More
