Recent trip to New York decided to check out the 'new' Plaza and made a booking directly. Arrival was grand looking with new Rolls Royce parked out front and the facade looked a little fresher. This was a once in a lifetime trip -- three generations and 2 birthdays to celebrate. My mom, who will be 75 shortly and my daughter who recently turned 16. Neither had been to New York before. We went to the Plaza for a weekend to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. I booked on the hotel website and mentioned his birthday. We had champagne and a birthday cake waiting. All the staff wished him a happy birthday. The service was superior. The food was expensive but good. The place is gorgeous. The location is great. more
