This was a nice place to stay. We had stayed at a terrible place and moved here. Clean, up to date, and people were nice! Very easy to get extra items! Warm chocolate chip cookies were given to us as we checked in! Most Doubletrees have free breakfast so we expected that but they did not.

We were in New York visiting friends and we wanted to stay near the High-Line in Chelsea. What a great find! The place was clean and as an IHG member we received a gorgeous view of the Empire State Building over looking the rooftop water towers. It was just fantastic. The lobby restaurant was perfect for breakfast as well as... More

The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly. The room was extremely small - we had a king size 'suite' but hardly found room for two suitcases. I guess that's expected in New York. There were multiple days where the hotel had no concierge, so we had to walk across the street to get help from the Hilton inn concierge,... More

This is a fairly standard and basic HI. I really appreciated that they held the last king bedroom for me, as I arrived late. At check-in, I requested to have a room farthest away from the elevator, which was a double room, but I was by myself, so the tradeoff was worth it for me. The room was indeed quiet,... More

So I'll break it down for you. It isn't the WORST hotel, but I wouldn't recommend it. We booked this hotel through lastminute.com, and paid for inclusive breakfast with a city view. Now, when we arrived at the hotel somehow our booking for June was actually booked for July. (Lastminute.com were at fault), and the guy at the reception resolved... More

Spent a week at this Holiday Inn, and can honestly say that it became a home away from home. My family and I stayed on the 19th floor and had a fantastic view of the Empire State Building, and when I say "fantastic" I'm not using the term lightly, I mean it was smack-you-in-the-face-AWESOME. The room was clean and comfortable... More

I had to stay here for a night in between apartments as I am in New York for a month - so booked because it is close to where I need to be in the day. Really impressive, welcoming and friendly staff, rooms have two double beds and reasonable size by New York standards, lovely, clean linen and towels. Bathroom... More

I've just visited the holiday inn as part of a 2 week business trip and every part of the stay was fantastic. The rooms are pretty good (small when compared to other hotels around the world but that's just New York) and have good facilities. Not the most modern but I wasn't planning on spending time in there. There was... More

Great hotel, great location, walking distance to subways, not to far to walk to Times Square and Macy's. friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms, nicely equipped, comfortable beds. large breakfast ! Restaurant open until 11pm, can get takeaway to your room. New York fab, wear comfortable shoes as lots of walking.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
