I stumbled upon City Rooms NYC by happy accident after other accommodations fell through. It was just what I was looking for, and the location was perfect--just two blocks from Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. The rooms are quaint, generally small, but well organized. We had a room with bunk beds, which was very small but had decent storage. (FYI, the... More

Great place to stay.Very clean. Very nice staff that is always there to help you and show you where to go. Nice rooms with shared bathroom. Walking distance from everything. We didn't take a subway. We walked everything. We'll recomend this to young people who want to visit the city.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and had a great time. The location is great and is within walking distance of Times Square. This was my first time staying somewhere that shared bathrooms, and I didn't mind it at all. I am only 5'2" and my knees just about hit the door when it was closed. But... More

I went with my boyfriend on January and it was the best place to stay in. The room was great (a little small, but it wasn't a problem), the bathrooms always clean and the best of all, the staff was really friendly and helpfull. Specially the night guard and his dog (Beau <3) who gave us the best tips ever... More

I found this place a breath of fresh air, if your expecting a grand entrance, on suite, room service, well you ain't going to get it. Instead you will be welcomed with a friendly genuine greeting with no pretences. The rooms & beds are comfortable, the shower & bath room facilities have recently been renovated, though one of the loos... More

Very very very friendly service! I didn't like that the toilet and bathroom weren't in my room. Room was also very small but as u want a bed to sleep and place to put your stuff while u get to know the city, its just enaugh!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The only flaw is having to share a bathroom, but the bathrooms are super clean and well-maintained. I would absolutely recommend this place!

We (Couple) stayed for 5 nights and we chose this hotel for its price and location. The rooms aren't massive, but lets face it you are in New York so why do you want to be in the room for extended periods of time? If you are worried about the shared bathroom situation, don't be. It seemed as though the... More

Great place to stay in Manhattan. Best for couples though. Varying places to stay in Manhattan, my partner and I stayed in 2 of their locations, 34th st and Hell's kitchen. Both great places to stay, close to everything and right in the middle of where you want to be. Rooms were perfect, comfortable and very reasonable. Shared kitchen and... More

I recently spent two nights here and absolutely loved it! This was my first time staying at a hostel and I thought it was great! The staff were very nice and helpful with giving us tips for the city! They let us leave our bags with them before we checked in and after we checked out so we didn't have... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
