There were larger issues for this hotel such as poor responses from guest services, slow responses for room service requests, and poor handling of complaints. There were smaller issues like poorly designed rooms, improperly installed TVs, inefficient elevators etc. Overall this hotel is one that looks like a five star from afar but once you are in it you can... This is my fifth time staying at this hotel. I've never had a bad stay and I love the location (you can walk several places and subway stations are convientlty located). The regular rooms are small but if you're not going to be in the room a ton, then they are good.

The hotel is in an amazing location 2minutes walk from central park and broadway shows. Rooms were all you need and very clean and warm, staff were very friendly and helpful some great places to eat nearby but do try the street carts as they provide good value food and drinks

Rooms small and cleanliness as a whole very unsatisfactory. Staff was friendly but didn't make up for the other issues that were not so pleasant. I don't recommend and will not be returning unless given a voucher to try a second time to see if the first was just one bad stay!

We selected Empire due to its location (at West 63rd Street) next to Lincoln Center and for a reasonable price. While staff was very courteous, facilities were aged and worn. Our room was a smallish suite to accommodate 4 people - two Queens and a sitting room with pull-out but a limited view. Bath was upgraded but tiny. The downside... More

Watchout for housekeeping. Keep your door locks. If you stay ask for the housekeeper name. Its located in a central area, thats it. Plenty of other hotels nearby. Watching your items is critical at this hotel. I travel international, this was the first time we have something stolen. The walls are very thin, you can hear people having sex next... More

Hello Gus H, Thank you for your recent stay at The Empire Hotel. Please be advised we are not in the business of stealing guest belongings, in fact we have one of the most successful lost and found departments. A full security report was completed for your alleged lost belongings, however it is not conclusive as to how it went... More

Tub faucet belches brown water when you change the hot/cold mix. Shower kit was random. Instead of shampoo/body wash/conditioner I got 2 shampoos and a body lotion one day and 2 body lotions and a shampoo the next. Open shower idea in a tiny bathroom is a bad idea. Couldn't help but flood the bathroom and they forgot to bring... More

Hello roadie360, We are very sorry that we managed to fall far below your expectations. It is very apparent that the perceived dysfunctional bathroom and amenity oversights, had a major impact on your overall experience. Hopefully, we had chance to replace the bath amenities and towels, with you calling down. It is great to see that all other aspects of... More

Stayed at the Empire for a couple nights back in Jan (14'). Notes- -Nick who checked us in was extremely helpful. It was later on a Sunday night and we were HUNGRY. He knew quite a few spots that served late and hooked us up. -Maybe ask for a room that views Lincoln Center -The lobby bar is sweet, has... More

I had a job interview and my potential employer booked me a room at this hotel for the night. I guess it is somewhat of a famous hotel, but I don't see why. The room I stayed in on the 9th floor was about the size of a large closet. My home office is bigger than the room I stayed... More

Hello kandkwed, We are very sorry The Empire Hotel did not suit your needs from many aspects. Came for a 2 day business trip. When I arrived I received a complimentary room upgrade which was nice. The front desk and concierge are lovely and very helpful.
