We were looking for a cosy place in New York and were lucky to find it. Small but very charming rooms. Ours was a corner room overlooking the city. The beds are extremly comfortable. And the lobby is a great place to relax in front of the fireplace. Great location! And very nice staff.

Being a first timer in NYC, of course I wanted the best of everything and my man just being his normal amazing self made sure it would be as how i dreamt it to be... I could not believe he was able to pull off a romantic getaway for us in the middle of this concrete jungle - NYC! :)... More

This was our first stay at The Bowery Hotel. We had a king corner room on the 10th floor. The view was out over Bowery Street. The room had very nice glass windows that you are actually able to open. The bathroom has a huge window in front of the tub/shower combination. You could flash all of NYC if you... More

The Bowery is a fantastic hotel as a base to explore NY. Why? It feels like coming home to relax. From the lovely rooms ( corner room on higher level best ) with floor to ceiling windows to the wonderful lounge (reserved for guests and the famous) with fire, rugs, sofas and ambience, and, of course first class service for... This maybe the kind of location you do not appreciate at first. It has become my favorite hotel location so far in the city. I love Bowery St and the hotel is so cool. At first I thought this was a refurbished hotel with so many cool touches ... It is only 8 years old!! It has a nostalgic feel... More

This is just such a lovely interesting place to stay. Loved it. Not so sure about the restaurant but you don't need to use it - lots of other great places to eat round about. Particularly liked the Bowery Bear on the bed and the general air if friendliness. The bar/lounge is a bit like a library and is very... More

Have been returning to The Bowery for 7 years now and it always feels special. The rooms with the floor to ceiling windows create amazing views and the decor throughout is excellent in a shabby chic way that some places in NYC do so well. The area continues to pop up new restaurants and shops each year but has maybe... More

I was in New York just before Xmas staying in another hotel nearby and popped in to ask if I could reserve a room for this latest stay. The girl on reception was really kind and said she would make sure it was a nice room, asked me what kind of view I would like and couldn't have been more... More

Every time I go to NY I like to stay at the Bowery Hotel. I like its location, its Bars and restaurants, the rooms have a good size, specially for NY. Their branzino at the restaurant id a must. It is non pretentious but very comfortable. Service is impeccable.

From the first moment I spoke with the Concierge on the phone, I knew I was dealing with a 'higher institution' in the hotel industry. I called after booking online to request a high-floor room with a view... if at all possible. I thought it would be fruitless. Two days later we walk into the lobby and are greeted by... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
