Love, love, love this hotel. Hip, boutique type hotel but with all the amenities that business people need: a desk, proper lighting, a nice bathroom. Beds are so comfy and rooms have giant windows that make them feel more spacious.

We just had 3 nights here with our family after a recommendation from friends. As a beautifully done "in-crowd" small stylish hotel, we really liked it. It's dark, cosy, comfy and opulent with low lighting. The rooms are a good enough size, very comfy beds abs nicely done. It's an old building and space which adds to its rich feel,... More

Really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms were very well done mixing the old with the new in a great way that the Smith Hotel Group seems to do so well. Everything was clean, in great shape, amenities were great, and the room was incredibly comfortable. Hotel staff were super nice and helpful, and the location is great. Can't go wrong.

I stayed here on a Friday night when I extended a work trip to NYC. It is a fully renovated "old" hotel. Has all the modern amenities but transports you back to what I imagine NY hotels in the 1920s were like. Great location and the neighborhood is where the punk rock scene started in the 1970s so there is... More

Really comfortable hotel. Bar, restaurant, rooms...all vary nice and comfortable...in a very up-scale way. Love this hotel. Amazing location, great, great service....last stayed ther this past Christmas. Went to spend time with daughter....they put her room right next to us, so it couldn't have been better for Christmas Day...we'd had a large Xmas eve, and stayed in our room all... More

This is an excellent hotel where we spent our New Year's Eve holidays from Switzerland. It has a genuine style and atmosphere. Highly professional and friendly staff, we will definitely return. It is also perfectly located. We loved the bar and our suite.

You'll love it or hate it. The structure is old, you'll wait for an eternity for one of the three elevators to arrive and the staff can be a hit or miss. The restaurant next door looks like an outdated amusement park and the coffee is better across the road. However, you'll hardly find rooms that are so welcoming as... More

The Bowery hotel is an absolutely gorgeous place. The staff are very friendly, rooms are lovely and clean, the bar is great and even hosts a few stars. It is located in a area not far from the action, and is extremely relaxing. I would definitely stay again.

The high standards that the staff uphold makes you feel special and important. The rooms are amazing . Not far from great food and the bar down stairs has great drinks and the occasional celebrity. Would stay again. Thank you bowery

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
