There aren't enough words to express just how thoughtful and polite the service is. Everyone from the bell hops to the front desk and housekeeping staff was friendly and courteous. Every detail of the services is well thought out and make you feel at home. They often say the devil is in the details. In the case of the Bowery... More

Check-in for this hotel is 3pm. Having arrived to town at 12pm we dropped our bags and went for a walk (the location is good, just near soho and LES) When we returned at 4:15pm the room was still not ready. We had to wait another 30 minutes before getting into our room (having plans to meet friends at 6pm... More

This is one of these hotels that goes on the trendy side, but that is not really good on service. The rooms are quite nice and well appointed, with a good size for NYC. Bathrooms are also big, but the sink a very small and not very handy with no storage space. However, rooms tend to be noisy so a... More

We loved our stay here for a romantic weekend getaway. Everything in this hotel is well thought out and the downstairs lobby is the place to be for a drink or cup of tea. It's so cozy and makes for a great stay in New York on an amazing block without a hint of "touristy New York" to be seen!

Highly recommend the rooms here and the service is so nice. If I could move into the bowery hotel I just might. Restaurant is less interesting but the bar downstairs serves amazing cocktails and the outdoor area is sensational in the warm weather. Big, big fan.

Had seen many reviews of the Bowery and need to check it out for myself. Have been 3 times in the past year. Have introduced friends to the quaint, sophisticated, peaceful ambiance. The place is magnificent. If you want to have the best service and gorgeous rooms, this is the place. A 5 star all the way.

We had a superb room with the floor to ceiling windows giving fantastic views over Manhattan. The breakfast menu had loads of choice and we had it delivered to the room every morning. Very tasty! However, that's where the good review ends. 1. EVERY morning at between 6-7 for the first 4 days we were woken up by the slamming... More

You can't beat the location of this hotel - it's in East Village right on the border to Noho which gives you great access to most of the trendy bars, cafes and restaurants in the city and it's pretty central in terms of taking in the tourist sights. It's a beautiful hotel with old wooden décor - a lovely lounge... More

I love staying in Soho when visiting the city and the Bowery is in the perfect location. No matter who you are the workers try to make you feel special. The room are normal sized for the area. I love the lobby bar and the terrace out back too. Very sleek and chic. Keep your eyes open you just might... More

I ate at the restaurant, but did not stay at the hotel, but this seems the only place to review it. The restaurant is large (I guess about 100), but is very busy. The bat also seems to be a very popular meeting place with a vibe. The food was excellent, and not expensive and I highly recommend it .

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
