This is an absolutely beautiful property in an interesting, historic downtown neighbourhood. Hotel staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Room was spotless and comfy with gorgeous views of the city. I especially enjoyed taking a nighttime bath with a view of the Empire State Bldg. from the bathtub. Room service food quality was better than average. Lunch at Gemma was... More

Dear FortMcMurrayAlberta, Thank you for your feedback and positive review. I am so happy to hear you hated leaving the hotel and enjoyed room service and Gemma. I will definitely address your notes about the service in Gemma and the lobby. I will also be sure to share your nice comments with the hotel staff. Again, thank you and we... More

We are neighbors of this fine hotel and I wanted so badly to be proud of it when taking our valued out of town clients there recently for an after dinner drink in their lobby lounge. Upon walking in, we were met with scores of empty seating areas and when we requested seats for cocktails we were told that they... More

Dear Tricia J, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience here at The Bowery. We do indeed prioritize seating for our hotel guests. We would love to seat all guests but unfortunately space is limited. There are times when it may appear there is a lot of open seating, but when the hotel is at... More

This Bowery Hotel is well-kept, and features an excellent service staff, very nice rooms, beds, and bed linens and towels. The room service was very good and the food arrived piping hot. I recommend The Bowery Hotel if you need to stay in the Bowery area.

The rooms, the location, the atmosphere, the energy, the synergy... It's all so very downtown NYC and the furtherest away from 'commercial', 'a chain', and 'sameness'. Be it the bar, the restaurant, or the rooms themselves -- I've had nothing but great times here.

So much to like about this place ... The hotel itself and the immediate area are jumping, you are walking distance to great shopping and restaurants ... The hotel itself has a vibe you just won't find uptown. The staff of the hotel deserve special mention ... Among the best hotel staff we have encountered anywhere. The Bowery is gentrifying... More

Honestly, it's hard to get past the views here. I've been in very nice NYC hotels where you get virtually no daylight, and from morning to evening this room was astonishing. (But I must add, it also seemed to make the temperature a little tough to control - the first two days I was out the door before 7 and... More

My Husband and I stayed three nights at the Bowery Hotel. We were impressed from start to finish with the hotel. The staff were all welcoming, courteous, funny and accommodating. The look of the hotel has a contemporary boho chic vibe. Very cool! We dined at Gemma the first night of our stay, we had impeccable service and the food... More

My wife and I just returned from a 2 night stay at Bowery Hotel. This is a trendy but warm boutique hotel in an up and coming NYC neighbourhood at the border of SoHo. Lobby, bar and restaurant seem to be the place to be on the weekend - crowded but priority given to guests of the hotel for seating.... More

My wife and I spent a four day weekend at the Bowery and really enjoyed it. I'm a frequent traveler and a tough grader. I give it the highest rating. First, it's different from a typical chain hotel. The rooms are more spacious (for NYC), although it must be said that the closet space is small. Our room had character... More

Dear William, Thank you for your positive review. I am very happy to hear that we will be your go-to hotel in NYC! Regarding the closets, we have recently started adding drawers to rooms where the closets are on the smaller side. I am happy to read that you enjoyed the shower and the windows! Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
