This is my fourth time in NY. In prior visits i stayed in Midtown and Upper west side. This time, budget wise, we decided to try Chelsea and this hotel. Big mistake. The location is bad, no nice places to eat nearby, you need to take the subway, which is just 2 blocks away and go to some other neighbourhood.... More

We stayed here 7 nights for a holiday in NYC. We booked here because the location looked good and the price was pretty decent for New York. The room was a good size, clean the bed very comfortable and thankfully the air conditioning was effective as it was hot outside. The breakfast was free and it was good but it... More

Once again, we stayed at that Holiday Inn Express. Once again, we had a good time. The hotel is very well located near Penn Station, at walking distance from Times Square. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. Of course, the rooms are tiny but we are in New York City. Some days, the breakfast room was crowded but we... More

I've booked a room at the same day as check in. The hotel is pretty good, everything is clean. Room is small, but our aim was to stay for a just a night. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend this hotel because of the location. After 2-3 block you can see Time Square, in 1 block there is Madison Square Garden.

We had a king room that was small but very clean and private. Everything was in good working order, including the TV and Wi-Fi, which was free. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very service oriented. Free breakfast each morning was superior to most hotel breakfasts, although seating in the breakfast area was hard to come by. No big... More

First time here, My sis in law and I stayed overnight to go do a live taping for the t.d.jakes show. The hotel was very nice and clean. Despite them only having a queen bed available by the time we got off the megabus. We slept like a babies. Its in a great location just blocks away from Times Square.... More

Convenient hotel. Centrally located. Personalised welcome. Breakfast is wholesome. Rooms have been modified and look squeaky clean. Near 7th avenue - easy access to all the action spots nearby. Convenient to reach by train - Penn Station is walking distance on 33rd St. And of course Times Square.

We had a king bed room and it was small but not at all bad for a NYC hotel room. Be aware there is no privacy as the shower is just separated from the bedroom by frosted glass. Great if you're a couple but I've traveled with my teenage children before and stayed in king bed rooms, but wouldn't in... More

Hello tshep42, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am sincerely sorry your experience in our hotel did not meet your expectations. All of our standard king rooms have a separate door for the bathroom. However, our King Rooms with a Massager Tub do not, and instead they have glass doors that open up... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
