Mela is conveniently located in the Times Square area. I stayed there because of the snow storm in NYC for 2 nights. The hotel staff are polite and courteous. The hotel rooms are extremely small and no room to maneuver around, however, very clean and sufficient. It's a perfect place to stay for one or 2 nights, specifically if you... More

We were told this was a centrally located boutique hotel. Well, central it certainly is and helpful - but this is without doubt the smallest "double" room I have ever stayed in anywhere. Not sure if we're just unlucky but there is no room for a second chair, the bed is against a wall so only one bedside table, nowhere... More

Hotel Mela is a modern hotel with nice amenities and a convenient location. A group of us stayed and the staff was friendly and helpful with a somewhat complicated reservation. The rooms were neat, the bathroom was stocked with H20 beauty products, and the gym has everything you need. The restaurants downstairs offer a variety of cuisines, and, of course,... More

My husband and I had another great stay at Hotel Mela last week. We have been coming to this wonderful, friendly hotel since 2009 and have enjoyed many pleasant visits. The location suits us perfectly because it is just far enough away from the noise and hustle and bustle of Times Square, but extremely close to all the theaters (and... More

Great location! Wonderful cozy hotel. I would definitely stay here again. Right in the heart of broadway shows. Right around the corner from Time Square, Toys are US and cute little grocery. Wonderful treat was hot cocoa on cold nights!

You can see Times Square. You can walk pretty much everywhere. Rooms are medium/small but everything that we needed was there. Fairly modern, small but well equiped bathroom, nice comfortable king sized bed. Our room faced out on 44th street but was still surprisingly quiet. Front desk was a little lackadaisical but the concierge service was nice and very helpful.... More

We spend a holiday in nyc every year and always stay at Hotel Mela. It is exceptional and meets our standards and needs in everyway. It is so welcoming, warm, comfortable and the service is second to none. Nothing is a problem to the exceptional staff. Their main concern is the guest's every need. We had breakfast at saju which... We recently had to stay in the city unexpectently. We used our Hotel Tonight app and found a great deal at Hotel Mela. I was at first concerned about what we might find but was pleasantly pleased with our experience. . We were greeted warmly upon check -in. The front desk had delicious apples for the guests and umbrellas to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
