Another excellent stay! Room was superb. Air conditioner was awesomely chilly! Reservation specialist Pam was friendly, helpful, a delight to deal with on the phone. At check in we were greeted by Arturo. He did an amazing job on making us feel welcomed and special... Bonus! Lovely.sweet welcome gal knocked on our door with a gift bag of goodies. Literally... Great location , right by Times Square. The rooms, bathrooms and beds are clean but a bit small but I guess it's normal in that area. Beds are very comfy which is soon needed after a long walk in the city. It has friendly and helpful staff. We stayed for 5 nights and quite happy.

Hotel Mela was perfect for us for this occasion. My boyfriend and I were in town for one night. We usually don't spend the night in The City because we live in South Western CT and usually take the train in and out, but we had family visiting from Germany, so we decided to get a hotel. The location is... More

I stayed at the Hotel Mela for 7 nights in August. As this was myself and my travel companion's first time to New York we chose to stay at this hotel due to its amazingly close proximity to Times Square for a reasonable price. It's the perfect distance from the hub of Times Square, as I think some of the... More

Hotel Mela is in a fantastic location right in the heart of Manhattan. Literally just around the corner from Times Square! Easy to navigate the whole of New York using the hotel as a base. Great twin rooms at the rear of the hotel, lovely and clean and well-serviced. Couldn't have had a better stay!

The Mela was well rated so I thought I would give it a try. I got their Superior Room and when I arrived at their very crowded, small check in desk, after about 15 minutes I was given the key card and squeezed with several other guests into a tiny elevator. I got to the room, right next to the... More

I was in the city for one night and friend from CT took the train in to enjoy a little girl time with me. I was so thrilled to find a hotel with a room with two twins. Rare. I've stayed at the Hotel Mela before and love the service and nice room layouts. The Twin room was equally nice... More

The hotel's staff was pleasant and helpful, room on 8th floor had street view and was reasonably quiet. Good bathroom products, hair dryer, comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities, fresh apples in reception and in the gym on the plus side ..... Room is small, single wardrobe, cleaning a bit patchy but not bad, only one hand towel for... More

Great location good room and amenities. Hot water in shower kept cutting out every few min which was really annoying- not expected when paying a high room rate. My room had no view - non issue as I was never in room. Pros: location, cleanliness, relative price

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
