My sister, mother, and I stayed at this hotel the weekend before Christmas in 2014. We had a wonderful time! Well, they did. I had flu A and B the entire time I was there. However, the hotel staff was great! They held our bags securely in a back room while my family and I ate bagels at a great... More

Stayed at your lovely property a few weeks ago and it was an amazing experience from front desk to housekeeping. Natalya (not sure if I spelled it right) checked us in and as we were getting to our room a gentleman was delivering ice for us already. I mean, how did she know? Our room attendant was great. Will definitely... More

A group of 5 were celebrating a special birthday, and Hotel Mela turned out to be the right place to call home for three days in New York. This was the first time we stayed at this property. The rooms and common areas are quite nice, as is all of the staff. I had read some guest dissatisfaction with the... More

Hotel Mela was acceptable. I wouldn't call it a 5 star hotel but the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were tiny but cute. Our room was non-smoking but smelled like smoke. It cleared up it then smelled like smoke again the next day so I wonder if the maids were smoking. I would say stay... More

In the heart of the Theater District and on a relatively quiet street, Hotel Mela is a good place to stay for a weekend in NYC. Small rooms and a double- not queen- bed, but it was clean and had all the necessary amenities. Staff were very helpful and the check-in was quick. Good restaurants and shops nearby.

Just spent three nights at Hotel Mela while in town to celebrate daughter's marriage. Friendly staff, clean room, heavenly bed, quality linens, QUIET despite being only a block from Times Square, close to mass transit. Delicious breakfast included at next door bistro - healthy, carefree way to begin your day. Broadway theaters within easy walking distance. Definitely plan to,stay here... More

This just fitter our need just fine. It's location was spot on. The room could have been a bit bigger but to be honest if you're just using it to sleep and shower it's adequate. The staff were helpful. The only downfall was that they charge you if they feel you have moved/touched their snacks. We didn't consume any.. On... More

I booked this hotel and trip to NYC as a surprise for my husbands 30th birthday and we had an amazing time. The staff were very helpful, with John emailing me details of how to book the trips before we arrived, the staff at the front desk phoning a dinner reservation for me, advising us on the best places to... Friendly staff will help you with all you inquiries and offer to keep your bags if you get there before check-in time and after you checked out. Def going back next... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
