So, overall this place wasn't terrible. There weren't any bugs, the room was clean, the staff friendly enough. The problem was that the price is completely absurd for a room with features you don't actually get. There was barely enough space to navigate around the bed, and not enough bedside chargers to accommodate two cell phones. Fortunately, my boyfriend and... More

This hotel was a great price, I had set lower expectations due to some of the reviews on here but I do not have a bad word to say. The location was perfect, subways were close by, the busy night life was there or if you didn't fancy getting through the crowds you can just go down the other avenue... More

The location of this hotel, on 44th Street, just off Times Square, is ideal for theatre goers. There are numerous restaurants nearby, along with Bryant's Park, which is one of the nicest parks in New York. The staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. John Paul, the concierge, is excellent. Listen to his advice, it is good.

We stayed there for 6 nights with our 1 year old baby. The room was small but looked new and super clean! The staff was super nice and very helpful. When we asked to move to another room because of a noise problem caused by outside vents, they moved us immediately. Hotels location is great - just a step away... More

Dear Dafna R, I am very happy to hear that our staff was able to make your stay more comfortable. I do apologize for the spoiled food. Our minibars are on a sensor system and any additional items placed inside would have caused charges to your account. Please know that we provide extra refrigerators at a small fee, if you... More

I stayed at Hotel Mela for 2 nights in late June and I couldn't have been happier with the hotel and its location. It was my first trip to NY and I was only staying 2 nights so I wanted a good location in Times Square. I was travelling on my own so when I got an upgrade to a... More

We stayed for one night on 21st June having arrived on Statten Island ferry from visiting relatives.I think the location is brilliant for walking to Central Park,Times Square,5th Avenue, shopping,Broadway theatres and restaurants. We had a queen room so felt we had adequate space for the time spent there-probably would not be so good if more than a long weekend. The French Bistro... Dear CDG138, I am pleased to know that you enjoyed our hotel's location. Some of our rooms are definitely cozy, but our deluxe and executive category offers more spacious rooms. Please reach out to me personally next time and I would be more than happy to offer a larger room. Warm regards, Natalia More

1. Location of this hotel can get 5 stars. It couldn't be better! You just walk through 44th street for 3 minutes and there it is...Times Square! 2. The room was clean; although, TOOO SMALL! Probably, it was a typical Manhattan hotel room. Since it was my first visit to NYC, I was shocked by the room/bathroom size. 3. The... More

The room was teeny tiny - as I expected in NY fashion. It was, however, very well appointed and clean. Free wi-fi was appreciated. Having a clock radio that charged my iPhone 6+ was also an added plus! Location is fabulous, just steps from Times Square! I highly recommend Hotel Mela. The staff was always courteous and helpful too!

Good rate on this hotel room for a one night stay in the city. I booked the night before, so the price to stay a block and a half from Times Square was an excellent value! It's a Boutique Hotel so it's cozy compared to a chain, but well worth it. The decor was contemporary and interesting. The staff was... More

The location is GREAT so close to Times Square and the lobby smelled really nice but the rooms are TINY. Clean and comfortable but so small, and we had to pay to print off one piece of paper (basketball tickets) which seems like something the concierge should do without a charge. Price was okay if you aren't going to be... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
