Room was not much larger than a cruise ship cabin but had all the amenities I needed. Great location for theatre goers and many restaurant options in easy walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

I revisited NYC in November last year but this time with my brother and my nephew for a weekend trip. I decided to stay at Hotel Mela again because the last time I stayed with my wife was outstanding and this time was even better ! It's neatly tucked away location is prime choice in Times Square. We were in... More

Very close located to Times Square. Very small rooms, but clean and modern. We had breakfast inclused, which was a surprise to us. In the restaurant we had to possibility to choose between three menu's: eggs, eggs or eggs. Those where well cooked and served. Can certainly recommend this place!

I recently travelled to New York with my husband, and after much research into recommended hotels, we decided on The Mela. From the moment we arrived, we were incredibly happy with our choice, and the location of the hotel is outstanding. It is literally steps away from the centre of Times Square, just further up the same road of the... More

Location is excellent right in Times Square and close to Subway. Staff was extremely nice and friendly. Room was clean but was overlooking street and extremely noisy with both noise from the street and hallways. Wifi also frequently did not work in room though it is available in the lobby. Fitness Centre was very dirty, stayed for a week and... More

I got a deal on this hotel via Priceline, and then got upgraded to a somewhat larger king room than the standard room I'd booked. This is relevant because my lower-floor room, I was told, was quieter than a standard-size room. It was so silent that - except for a little activity in the hallway - it felt like being... More

From the first phone call until check out this afternoon, our experience at Hotel Mela was nothing less than marvelous.Melinda at the front desk assured me that the upgrade offered by Trip Advisor would be honored and it was. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite on the 16 the floor. It was a very quiet location. The suite was tastefully... More

This is my third visit to NYC and my husbands first. After checking in we went to our room on the 6th floor. Our view overlooked the main street directly across from the theatre. Yes, the room was small but for how much time you spend in the room who cares! The big tick for us was that it was... More

We stayed three nights in February and booked the Winter Wonderland Package which was terrific. We were upgraded to a king room on the 15th floor (with much more floor space than queen room which we had on previous stay) with an interesting view of the period building rooflines across 44th St. Mela has a very basic lobby which is... My wife and I stayed there in mid Feb for the second time in 2 years. I would not want to stay any other location. It is less than a block from Times Square, the service is better than ANY other hotel I have ever stayed and great rooms at a reasonable rate. We highly rate it . Sam and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
