My husband & I needed a place to stay during a 36-hour date for our anniversary. A friend recommended Sugar Hill for its price & uniqueness - we loved it! Super comfy bed, pithy and sometimes hilarious commentaries on a range of topics were printed, laminated, and displayed around our room & the breakfast table. Also, we stayed in the... More

The Inn is lovely and reasonably priced for New York, BUT if you want your reservation to be honored, do not book here. Jeremy, the owner, is arrogant and totally unprofessional. We visit New York every Memorial Day weekend for my granddaughter's birthday and have stayed (or tried to) at Sugar Hill every year since my daughter and family moved... More

I took my granddaughter to New york to see colleges and we stayed three days at sugar Hill. Our host was helpful and all his suggestions were great. My 17 year old granddaughter and I walked all over the area and never felt uncomfortable. Went to the Convent Baptist church for Easter service and though we are neither Baptist or... More

Harlem Inn is excellent! The best place we have stayed in NY. Comfortable, nice, big and clean rooms, bathroom, kitchen very well equipped. The host is very nice and helpful and has an interesting library for free use. He makes excellent breakfast. Sugar Hill is a very quiet and safe area, and nice people everywhere. We highly recommend this place... More

Don't stay here if you plan to drive and come in late. Do not stay here if you are not familiar with Harlem, do not stay here if you have a big dog. Place would be nice if it didnt have a foul smell as you walk in. Also the main contact person is rude and has an attitude problem.... More

My husband and I, along with another couple made reservations to stay at the Sugar Hill Harlem Inn for our annual trip to NYC. We have stayed in a variety of places in NYC and, my opinion is that this has been the best of them. We searched many hotels, all of which were wicked expensive for no good reason.... More

All of the lovely reviews of Sugar Hill allowed me to relax about staying in Harlem. What I found most intriguing was the international feel of the B&B. Breakfast our first morning was shared with a couple from France, a gentleman from Ireland and of course, Jeremy, who has lived in several countries. The next morning a young woman from... More

This was the perfect place for us to stay on our visit to Hamilton Heights to spend several days with our daughter who is a student at City College. We were in Josephine's Room, which was spacious and included a kitchenette we used to make coffee and breakfast each morning. The room was clean, quiet, well maintained, interestingly decorated and... More

My Lover and I thoroughly enjoyed our staycation at Sugar Hill. We are both native New Yorkers who love Harlem and were pleased with the central location. The block it's on is very safe, no parking is allowed and we saw City College (located a few blocks away) security patrolling the streets constantly. Around the corner are a few cafes... More

Normally, my wife and I shy away from B&B's. Somehow, we've always felt like we were intruding on another family the few times we have stayed at one. This one intrigued us: It was close to our daughter's new apartment and appeared very convenient, the website photos were very appealing, and - most important - the TripAdvisor reviews seemed mostly...
