I spent two nights at Sugar Hill Harlem Inn. First, the neighborhood was quite safe, and quite friendly. I walked during the day and at night, and never felt any trepidation. The Inn is an old brownstone building with big windows that open and my room (The Miles Room) had lots of space, a nice sitting area, a full kitchen,... More

My boyfriend and I stayed there for a week in December 2011, at Josephine's room. The Inn is excelent, the room was very confortable and it's just a 3 min walk from the subway. You can have home made wonderful breakfasts in there as you meet it's fine Irish owner. The surrounding area is very quiet and nice... don't miss... More

I was curious about staying at a bed and breakfast and never had the opportunity to stay in one, until this trip to NYC I was able to book this wonderful room. To tell you the truth was afraid to take my family to just any B&B, but after searching every single web site and reading every single review I... More

My wife and I spent two nights at this Inn and were completely satisfied. The rooms are large and clean and especially quiet at night. Breakfast was a highlight. Jeremy was the perfect host and could not have been more helpful. Cost was very reasonable. More

My 30th Birthday surprise from my husband was a trip to New York and we stayed at the Sugar Hill Harlem Inn. My husband and I stayed at the newer brownstone around the corner from the main brownstone. Our room was Lena's Room which was spacious, pleasantly clean and decorated very well, also the bed was very comfortable. I definitely... More

Very good solution to stay in New York. Out from the traffic jan of lower Manhattan, but very close to it (just 10 - 15 minutes by subway). The area is very quite and tranquil. It gives also the possibility to visit Harlem. Cozy and quite environment, warm welcome and support by Jeremy, the owner. Excellent breakfast prepared in real... More

Don't worry about this place being in Harlem. We were far from being the only white people and everyone we met was very friendly. A native New Yorker friend, in fact, told us that this part of Harlem has always been middle class and was never really risky. Our room was spacious and very pleasant. We had to ask for... More

I'll make this short and sweet, we stayed for a week and were beyond pleased! We stayed in the malcolm room for the first night and billies room the rest of the week. Both rooms where clean comfortable and the staff made us feel very welcomed. Location and price are great. I would highly recommend it, I know I'll never... More

This is a somewhat long review, so if you don't want to read it all, at least go down to the section entitled "BUT THE WORST OF IT". This is truly amazing. I have been traveling the world over (U.S., Europe, Asia) for fifty years, staying in 5-star hotels, local hotels, bed and breakfasts, and hostels. My personal preference is... More

It is written in my policy that any early departures must be paid for in full. If you tell me that you are leaving early on the morning of your departure, it is unlikely that I can re-rent your room. The lady told me that she was bitten by a bed bug after I showed her my policy. I asked... More
