I was booked into this hotel by a client for whom I was doing work, and I think they are members. I was only here for one night originally, and I wanted to come in early - I called the hotel directly and asked to add two earlier nights to my stay, and they did so at the same rate... More

My fiancee and I stayed at the Rockefeller Center Hotel for 2 nights in July of 2007. When researching hotels for our trip, we had a few requirements that needed to be met: 1) reasonable rate (didn't want to spend more than $300/night), 2) mid-town location, 3) reasonable overnight parking rates (yes, some people still need to park a car... I gotta say...when I booked this room through my company's website at $214.00...I was pretty certain it was gonna suck (room rates these days in NYC are more like $500). But imagine my surprise when I walked into a clean, modern, efficient self-service hotel with everything you could ever want in a business-oriented property, and with a PERFECT location just... Only positive is its location and even that has its downsides i.e. step outside into the crowds of Times Square and queue for Radio City (entrance to Hotel constantly almost blocked in evening by smokers from basement night club - Johnny Utah). Lobby minute and this made worse by staff who do not know how to check you in properly... More

The hotel offers so much - great location, great facilities (e.g., free internet, printing, lounge, kitchenette in some rooms, great price for a New York hotel) but - the staff need more training in customer service and the lift takes for ever. I had problems with my room - blocked toilet/telephone didn't work/ distinct smell of previos occupant (a smoker... More

GOOD: - great location for shopping and city visits around Rockefeller centre POOR: - experienced endless waiting time in front of elevator - calculate up to 20 minutes for checking out luggage you store there after your official check-out. seems to be a logistical challenge. OVERALL: good for a short stay in that specific city area

Just came back from a 5 night stay in this hotel. Selected the standard room with queen bed (rate was US209). This was a holiday for me and my wife and this room suits us fine. Room was clean and well maintained, and facility was good. But room was quite small, we had two pieces of luggage and that was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
