More of a boutique hotel. If your looking for cozy, this is it. Rooms New York small. I was on 10 facing 57th street and the room was quiet. Fittings in the room nice. Hotel 2nd floor lobby decor very nice. Bar in lobby nicely appointed, with 3 balcony tables overlooking 57th street. Roof deck could have been nice if... More

Had a long business trip in New York and needed something to quench my palette after a long day of work. After sampling a drink called "Irish Summer" in the lobby I knew I went to the hotel bar and met the creator Kristina, who not only made me several more Irish Summers but also provided a friendly chat.

Kristina makes a really refreshing Irish Summer! Highly recommend you ask for this drink. Perfect name for the drink! We had a really nice chat about New York and she provided a lot of advice on where and what to visit. Charming girl.

This last May my wife and I were on vacation in NYC, and went to the Renaissance NY 57. We planned to stay there and enjoy the "lounge access/breakfast for members and one guest", the eventual upgrade, special treatment as Marriott Rewards Gold Members. The check in was our first disappointment. We got there at 2pm and we where greeted... More

Dado_de_Castro, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're very sorry to hear you and your wife felt so dissatisfied during your stay with us. Everything you describe regarding the lack of service, improper room care, and amenity issues is far below our standard of service. It's unfortunate you did not receive a true Renaissance 57 experience.... More

Fabulous service and warm welcome. Loved having a glass of wine and chatting about the day. Never overbearing and always attentive. Whenever I travel to NY I avoid the front restaurant bat and sit with Kristina as the service is more personal and authentic.

This hotel is a nice option in Midtown east. The hotel feels very mid-century-modern but with nice luxury updates. The upper lobby has a sitting area with brown leather funky chairs. The rooms have built-in walnut cabinets, and the bathrooms fit the style without looking dated. The staff is also wonderful. When you arrive, the bellman opens the door and... More

Tiny room. Just enough space to get around the bed. Had to request a fridge and when it came in there was no where to put it except where my bag was laid out. Apart from the nice reception and good service team, the hotel is more like a motel and has nothing to recommend it except its proximity to... More

Hotel was an excellent buy. Staff and management was excellent -- Thank you, Felix Maldonado, manager. Hotel is a very long way from being Renaissance quality. Extremely disappointing in that respect! My wife and I are LIFE PLATINUM Marriott members with 1,400 nights and we've stayed at hundreds of Marriotts all over the world. I believe that we are qualified... More

This hotel is centrally located and the rooms are tucked away from the busy streets and noise.. The service was excellent and no qualms about the overall interiors.. Although the reception is quite small, the staff at the front desk are courteous and prompt. The restaurant serves a good choice of menu and the breakfast was excellent!! The continental cuisine... We're so fortunate to have found this property - we had a not so great experience at another Marriott property (more than double the rate of the Renaissance) earlier in the week and checked out to find the Renaissance on 57th. Wonderful location, attentive staff, rooms extremely well kept. During our breakfast the Director of the Property - Chad introduced... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
