We've booked this hotel a few times to take our annual Christmas season foray into NYC. Excellent service, great restaurant and bar, very small rooms. Our tactic is to get far enough away from the 5th Ave. melee but close enough to walk around during the holiday. Easy walk to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's cathedral and even the... This stretch of Lexington Avenue has many many hotel choices. This is my first time as this property. I was booked into a "cozy" room which is an adjective for small -like B&B in London small. It was like take a moment and get over that claustrophobia feeling when the door closes small. Did I tell you it was small?... More

Hey great location, nice staff, rooms are what they are, but in this day in age, pillows that are hard beyond belief. Most hotels have changed to comfy pillows, these were the worst I have ever noticed around the world, my wife and I had a horrible sleep, just because of these awful pillows.

Lets start with the good. I was lucky enough to get a very decent sized room (albeit my colleagues were not so fortunate) Everything else about this hotel is decidedly poor when you consider it was c $600 per night. Specifically: - the room had insufficient lighting. I know dark equals fashionable but it would very nice to have a... More

This was my 2nd time at the hotel. Just love its location! The room was extremely nice and spacious for 2 people - Room 1601 - and it could fit a 3rd person on the sofa. It is central to most of the shopping areas, points of interest and on a very nice street. A perfect stay for Thanksgiving! The... More

Stayed a few years ago, the hotel is a little old but very central and ideal for exploring NYC. Tended to catch the subway and walk back which was more fun, impossible to get lost as the road network is a grid system. How much time are you going to spend in a hotel in NY its all about whats... We arrived and our reservation was suppose to be up graded. The manager argued with us and finally gave us a room we could live with. (One king bed) After waiting 4 hours the room was finally available to us. We were told they offered room service and that was not true. Our room was very small and there was... More

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days over Thanksgiving and it is very well located, within easy walking distance of Central Park, Fifth Avenue and The Rockefeller Centre. Subway lines are also very close for travelling that bit further. The reception on the ground floor, as well as the lobby area and restaurant / bar area... More

I recently stayed at this hotel over Thanksgiving weekend with my mom for our annual mother-daughter Holiday NYC excursion. The hotel was recommended by our friend and hairstylist who has stayed here several times before. We were looking to get out of the Time Square area and theater district where we normally pick a hotel. We drove into the city... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
