What can I say? This hotel is fabulous for so many reasons. The location is superb--being right in the middle of it all at Times Square. The rooms aren't huge, but they aren't cramped like other NYC hotels either. I LOVE the view from the Concierge area restaurant. Breathtaking. Customer service is amazing. Last time we stayed was for my... More

This is the third or fourth time we have stayed a week at this hotel and while I am a Marriott Gold level, we were not able to get a room upgrade. I made the request by email in advance and requested in-person when we checked in with no avail. I used 120,000 points for three free nights which soothed... More

This hotel smells heavily of mold throughout the public spaces and the rooms. I have stayed at marriotts, including Renaissance hotels, all over the world, and this was not up to par. The hyatt 48 is MUCH nicer and less expensive.

Great location, 15 minute walk to Central park, lots of great restaurants in the vicinity and a Bloomingdales just around the corner. Room reasonably large for NYC, clean, helpful staff. Bar/restaurant delightful especially Sonya who works there. One word of warning, book taxis from reception and not the concierge. I made the mistake of booking one via the concierge Geoff... More

I stayed here for two nights in March in double cozy room which looked out on 57th/Lexington Ave on 14th floor high enough to be away from street noise but with view out - 1 window but is very compact, contemporary decor, nice size bathroom with Aveda condiments & plenty fresh towels. Nice areas to sit/lounge and free wifi in... More

the 57th and Lexington location is ideal for visiting the Met (30 min walk) -shopping in midtown, galleries, etc. Subway convenient. Fairly quiet, clean, nicely decorated rooms and bathrooms. Mattresses and bedding comfortable. A bit of subway vibration in parts of the building. Well-priced, except for the restaurant and bar- several other excellent choices in the neighborhood for eating and... More

Stayed here a couple of nights for a short private visit. Very good location, close to subway, and close to Central Park if you like to go for a run, like I do. Small but ok gym in the hotell too. Rooms in good shape, clean, rather small. Friendly staff, and very nice female bartender who knows her wines. Good... More

Spent a long weekend at this comfortable and very clean hotel. The location was perfect for a tourist as museums and Central Park were a comfortable walk and the subway is nearby. Many nearby restaurants and Whole Foods market is only a couple of blocks away. The staff was exceptional. My sole billing issue was cleared up very quickly. Everyone... More

We stayed overnight at this hotel after a late night out. The hotel is oddly laid out. Guests enter at street level to check in, take an elevator up to the lobby/lounge area, then a different set of elevators to access rooms. Though our room was upgraded (the terrace being utterly useless in winter) it was nevertheless tiny. The room... More

We've been to NYC many, many times and usually try a different hotel each time, so this was our first and last stay at this hotel. The location is really good. I did not like the DARK interior. The reception area is dark as is the bar/restaurant level. I don't understand the choice to use dark finishes when there is... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
