We found the hotel to be especially clean and the staff to be friendly and efficient. Since we were there on a rainy, damp day, we wish they had a covered area outside for entering, leaving and taxi waiting. W e will not hesitate to go back, however.

This was our second stay at this hotel. The first stay was with adult daughter and a 4 year old, and the second was for me and my husband. I chose it originally for proximity to our other daughter on the Upper East Side (10 block walk, less than half mile) and for the availability of a King room with... More

Very convenient location to the FDR and all things upper East side and Yorkville. I wish all Courtyards were run as professionally and courteously as this one. Not to mention compared to other NYC hotels, the Upper East Side Courtyard is a bargain! My experience is always made special (I've stayed at the property multiple times) by front desk manager... I was working in East Harlem and needed a place to stay over night. This hotel was in the perfect location for me and it's in a nice part of town (Upper Eastside of Manhattan). About a 15 minute walk to the Lexington subway line so getting to East Harlem was easy and quick (as far as NY commutes go)!.... More

The staff was friendly and helpful, except the night manager. I don't know who she is because she wore no name tag and would not identify herself. I witnessed her cold, uncaring regard to no fewer than three guests. Also, I had reserved two rooms and requested they be close together. I paid in advance two months before staying. The... More

Vito4413, I am disappointed to hear about your experience at the Marriott Courtyard Upper Eastside. We pride ourselves in providing great customer service and impeccable room cleanliness and unfortunately we did not do that for you. The staff was not overly friendly. There was dried blood on my pillow and they have no room service and coffee is in the basement. Not impressed. I would not recommend this hotel. I was there for business and the location wasn't even great.

JHughes4, I cannot begin to tell you just how disappointed we are to learn about your experience at the Marriott Courtyard Upper Eastside. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and unfortunately we did not do that for you. There is no excuse for stains on pillowcases or bad customer service during your stay with us. after several recent visits to NY to boutique hotels where I couldn't sleep because of the constant horn blowing I opted for a hotel where location and style was not so important. The result was I was able to sleep undisturbed and it was a short cab ride to mid town or 3 blocks down to Lexington to catch the... More

We stayed here for 4 nights during our first stay in New York. The hotel is in a nice quiet residential area but the subway is easily reachable. There is no onsite restaurant but they give you a list of nearby places, however a great thing about the hotel is the room had its own fridge and microwave. This meant... More

Staff is cold and careless, room was dirty (a lot of dust on the furniture, HAIR CLIPS IN THE BED SHEETS!!!!). After the first night the TV remote control was missing (maybe accidentally taken from housekeeping). When we returned to the room and noticed this we called the front desk to get a new one....never got it til we called... More

My family and I were here Christmas/New Year's week 2014. This is an older hotel that has been partially renovated. I say partly because although the room had new furniture and bedding, there were other parts of the room and hotel that were not touched at all. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which gave us some extra room.... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
