This is the second time I have stayed here. This time in a studio, room 4. The room was large, very clean and decorated nicely with new bathroom and cute kitcheonette. This room is on the street side so it was more noisey then the other side "E" where I stayed before. I would stay there again for a night... More

Not sure which property the other reviews covered - this is one to be avoided. "Local character" does not excuse a miserable, dreary run-down apartment. We had a studio on the 5th floor, facing the street. It's a walk-up and that was clear from the beginning. Furniture would have been rejected by 2nd hand shops - bed was tolerable -... More

My 13 yo daughter went on a one week shopping vacation to NYC. So safety was my primary concern. The area is the Upper East Side of NYC. Most expensive zip code in the US. The #6 train is 4 blocks away, numerous delis and cafe on the way. The hotel itself is on the corner of 74street and 2nd... More

If you're coming to NY, you're probably not doing much more than crashing here. This is a great place to crash. Close to Central Park and 5th Avenue shops, short walk to a subway stop. A couple of markets nearby make getting supplies easy, as well, if you wanted to use the kitchen area. We only used the fridge and... More

I was surprised by my husband with a trip into NYC for my birthday, and as a 1st time visitor, I had no idea what to expect...staying here was absolutely perfect. It's not fancy...it's home. It's not a chain hotel...it's local. It completed the whole experience of being in Manhattan for the first time. Do your research and expect exactly... More

Perfect for a couples overnight!! We were 1st time visitors to NYC & opted for this "local flavor" instead of a standard hotel. You feel more like a native than a visitor while staying on the Upper East Side, just 4 1/2 blocks from Central Park. Less than 10 minutes in a cab & you're in the Theatre District. We... More

Our time in New York was restful and relaxing because of where we stayed. East 254 Vacation was perfect for our family. We had two rooms. The room on the first floor was so New York with a sitting area and a loft bed. The full kitchen was very nice. Our second room was on the fifth floor. It was... More

I stayed in room 4A. Let me start with a positive: the location is very nice and the neighborhood is clean and felt safe. There is a very nice market on 1st and around 82nd that had lots of great food and supplies. That is where the positives end. When we arrived I was tired after a long day of... More

I needed a place to stay at short notice. I had a great experience at 254 East Vacation. It is well located, it is competitively priced, it is spotlessly clean, and had just been repainted. It is comfortable and the items inside the apartment were modern and often new. Why pay hundreds of dollars for a hotel with facilities you... More
