Stayed here just for one night as fancied staying in this part of town. Room smelt horrible and the windows were filthy. We asked if we could be moved, but we couldn't without a fee. We'd already paid £167 so weren't keen on that idea. Breakfast was ok, nothing special and found the staff a little rude, A cool location... more

I stayed one week (07 nights) at the Rivington Hotel this June, and it was a great experience. The Hotel is cool but not arrogant, the guests are modern and stylish without being snob. The staff in the door are helpful and in the front desk they are young hipsters with not appropriately the best attitude, but this is not... more

We stayed one night at The Rivington and give the room high marks for style and comfort. However, the hotel is a mixed experience. The lobby and common areas are worn and shabby and not up to our expectations considering the top dollar price we paid for our stay. We enjoyed the room, but will not return again. more

I have stayed at the Rivington twice now for business, in Jan and in Feb 09. Both times I got an awesome rate. The first time really impressed me. At check-in I was given a voucher for a complimentary tasting menu dinner in the restaurant downstairs (which was delicious, by the way). My room was a corner room on a... more

Expectations determine experiences. If you want Rockefeller Center and mid-town tourist havens this is not your place. On the other hand, the edgy (or tawdry depending on perspective) Lower East Side has a dynamic young vibe and is easy walking distance to the Village, Soho, and Tribeca. The Subway "F" Line is only 1 block away. My 22 year old... more

The room smelled bad - very bad. The view was abysmal. The neighborhood was unsavory. The furniture was cheap, chipped and tasteless. I would not stay at this hotel again if it were free. The staff was oblivious to the problems with the hotel and arrogant. This is the first bad review I have ever written about a hotel and... more

The staff actually lies to you. If you request something they say yes and then do nothing about it. All the staff if uptight and obnoxious. The hotel is dirty and there were creatures walking around in the night. more

The two things that Hotel On Rivington has going for it are it's location and the rooms. We stayed in a high floor room with Japanese soaking tub. The room was a good size but in need of a lick of paint. We had a fantastic view of downtown from both the bedroom and bathroom. The hotel bar is fairly... more

I started staying here in early Summer of 2005 before the hotel was officially open (they were still painting and the restaurant and bar were not open). I had seen it on the back page of Conde Nast Traveler "The Room". Lucky me - I actually got "The Room" shown in the article. In the years since, I have stayed... more
