My friend and I stayed here the last weekend in June and loved it! The rooms are spare, but we were only staying there to sleep and eat. However, there was a nice common room with games, books, computers and places to sit and chat if we were going to stay there long enough to hang out in the evenings.... More

Situated in such a good location, rooms very clean, staff so friendly and very resonably priced for New York! Plus the breakfast was AMAZING and to top it all off I left my teddy there and they were so nice and had it sent out to me! Will definately stay there again next time I'm in NYC. Highly reccomend this... More

The hotel is a renovated building situated in a nice and safe area. The 24h staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good and abundant (seasonal fruits, different sort of bread and cakes, cornflakes, etc). All rooms face the street (a bit noisy in summer), are equiped with TV and bunk beds. Unfortunately, Any room has private bathroom.... More

We spent one night at American Dream Hostel and were happily surprised with the great service and fine facilities they have. The price/quality ratio is excellent in my opinion, and it's strategically located. The room we received had no noise despite being in the middle of a city as New York. The manager and receptionist who received us were extremely... More

Art Deco style. Two blocks from the subway. Bus across the street. Maps available at the front desk. Continental breakfast every morning. VERY clean. Quiet. Safe. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah. Italian ice 3 doors down. I wouldn't change anything, except the curtains on the windows are a little too sheer and let a lot of light... More

The rooms are tiny and don't expect much chat from the staff working there. But as a cheap way to see the city, who minds. The place is clean and offers all one needs as a base. The breakfast offering is particularly awesome. From donuts to boiled eggs, everything you could want is on offer as part of your stay.... More

The private rooms were clean and quiet, and though the WiFi didn't reach my room on the third floor, there was nevertheless a very practical room with computers and a printer for guests to use. Breakfast was basic but there was always hot coffee, donuts, and fresh fruit available, even if you came downstairs late. Highly recommend this hostel.

I stayed at American Dream Hostel in December 2014 and really enjoyed it. The hostel has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, which suited me perfectly as I wasn't looking for a party atmosphere. My room was clean and a good price for New York. The location of the hostel in Midtown is great and there are plenty of nice restaurants, pubs... More

Quite frankly this is one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Its not a party hostel, but thats fine by me. This is a budget hotel, rather than a hostel, but a good budget hotel, with a much better vibe that hotels. Prices in NYC are generally a bit scary, but this was good value for money, and... More
