Large room by New York standards. Good continental breakfast. The lobby has a fish smell from the Chinese market in the same building, but it seemed to be limited to just the lobby area - the breakfast area and our room smelled fine. About a 3 block walk to the nearest subway stop, the F train, which in Manhattan is... More

This hotel was fine. The location is not great for subway access - the East Broadway stop on the F train is the only subway that is nearby. In terms of location, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Chinatown. It is the dirtiest part of Manhattan, but it also has great food, and a unique atmosphere. I... More

Quite honestly, we were a little worried about our stay here after reading fellow Trip Advisor's reviews inre "fish smell". I even packed Lysol, just in case! But thankfully, never had to use the Lysol! We didn't detect even the faintest hint of fish. Room was small, but definitely included all that we (a family of four) needed for our... More

Had a great 3 day stay here last month, and the service, including the free shuttle, along with continental breakfast was great! Was very easy to get directions, or other help needed from the hotel staff.

I stayed here in March 2015 on my own (29 yo female) and it was perfect. I felt safe, I had a comfortable stay and it was easy to get to and from. I caught the subway mutiple times but it was also great for walking to Lower East Side to the cool bars and restaurants around that area. Also... More

Good clean hotels at a reasonable price are hard to find in NYC. This hotel is in the heart of Chinatown (Cheap Food). Just over the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn. Traffic is a little congested and parking is always a premium in NYC($35 night). Good American Breakfast included.

I typically stay in Midtown, Times Square, Chelsea or Central Park West so this was new for me. Located on the edge of Chinatown and within walking distance of Battery Park & downtown I really grew to love the neighborhood. The room was fine as was the fitness center. Breakfast is free here which is a nice time saver in... More

Travelling for business this hotel had a great rate and was close to the office location on Water St. It's right in the Chinatown area. Rooms were clean and staff friendly. No complaints. Great value for the money.

Situated in a convenient location in Manhattan, the Fairfield Inn & Suites is a nice and decent hotel. During the course of my stay (five days), I faced no problems whatsoever. The room, although a tad cramped, was immensely clean, and looked over the James Farley Post Office. From the window you could spot the Empire State Building, which is... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
