First of all the place was clean and the staff was friendly. I appreciated the free doughnuts and coffee in the morning. Location is very good! However the room was extremely small with hardly space to stand up and move. No fresh air possible either. Maybe it is ok if you are looking for just a bed. But.. the lower... More

Stayed here for 7 nights with two friends during the New Year Period from the 30th Dec 2014-6th Jan 2015! Staff were all so helpful and kind made you feel really welcome and helped you whenever necessary!! The room was small, but big enough for 3 girls with massive suitcases! There was a basin, microwave and fridge we overlooked 34th... More

Clean and safe hostel which felt more like a hotel. Enough private bathrooms and good beds. Noise from the street is ok for Manhattan. Our room was a little bit chilly at night due to too much space around the AC in the window. Helpful staff, no elevator, free WiFi. Perfect location! Would recommend!

Having traveled across the whole of US and stayed mostly in hostels, this has got to be one of the worst experience. Horrible road noise even with the uncomfortable ear plugs on, extremely tiny rooms to fit large luggage, no power points for top bunks and no recreational facilities to socialize/relax. One dorm-mate was shagging someone the whole night (thankfully... More

We appreciate that you have taken the time to leave a review of your recent stay with us. Unfortunately, outside city street noise is beyond our control and we offer complimentary earplugs to help alleviate the sound levels. We do appreciate you mentioning our efforts to maintain the cleanliness of our property. In lieu of a large common area we... More

We stayed here over Christmas and new years and thought it was great. It was more of a hotel than a hostel and our rooms got cleaned everyday. The facilities were really good also. The rooms were really really small though. But it didn't matter because in New York you are never at home. There's so much to do there.... More

My husband and I stayed at The New York Budget Inn for 5 nights in December. Knowing that we would spend most of our time taking in the sights of New York and not in a hotel we were looking to stay somewhere in a good location but without spending too much money. This place fitted the bill perfectly. It... More

This place is friendly, clean, affordable and in a great part of town. I have been to NYC a number of times and stayed in many different places, in terms of value, this place is amazing! Will definitely be back!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
