Greenwich Village. A great place to be to start with. The Jade Hotel's vibe is just great and comforting. The staff is extremely friendly and helpfull and they make you feel casually comfortable from the moment you step to the front door. The room we stayed in (1507) has a view on the Empire State Building. We didn't suffer from... More

We stayed at the Jade Hotel the weekend of May 17 - 19, 2013. The Jade is located about 5 minute walk from Union Square so made most areas of the city accessible to us. I love the decor of the Jade. It has a hip, boutique feel to it. There is a bar/restaurant as part of the hotel which... More

This is a cute a cute hotel, the location is extremely convenient and the staff helpful and kind. Our bedroom was nice but too small. We were 2 adults and 1 child and we had to move one at a time. We stayed just one night, so non need to empty our suitcases, but it wouldn’t have been enough place... More

We've checked into many hotels in the past, but can honestly say that the welcome and late check in we experienced at the lovely Jade hotel was the nicest in living memory. From the moment you enter this tastefully refurbished hotel in a perfect West Village spot, everything feels a little bit special - from the beautiful lobby through to... More

The hotel location is prime and its appointed very nicely and very comfortable. The vibe is hip yet relaxed and the doorman remember you everyday! Nice touch. While the rooms are a little smaller the location certainly makes up for it because people don't come to NYC to hang inside. If you need a lot of space this isn't the... More

Close proximity to subway and meatpacking district / high line (good for evening strolls). Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The hotel has no signage and from the outside it looks like a restaurant/bar. The bar can get busy into the night, but if you are high up enough, you shouldn't be hearing anything.

Wanting to visit my daughter in NYC (where I am from originally) I wanted to stay near the west village and found the Jade. It looked lovely, small and in the perfect location. I booked through Booking.com and received a very good rate for 4 nights. Upon arrival i was greeted by the "better than ever" staff. They couldn't do... More

We've been to many hotels in the world and have received top notch service, but those words do not come close to the service we received from Keron McDonald @ The Jade Hotel in NYC's Greenwich Village. Keron was the first person to greet us at the Jade Hotel when we pulled up curbside in our limousine. He was beaming... More

My Mom and I just returned from a 4 night stay at this very boutique style hotel. The rooms although small were very elegant and quite functional. I had requested a room on the highest floor prior to coming to New York and they did not dissapoint. We were on the 17th floor and had a great view of the... More

Staying at the Jade has been a great experience. The location is quiet and extremely convenient, the staff helpful and corteous, especialy the doormen. The rooms are a god size, compared to other Ny hotels, and the decor superb. It was a great oasis in the city! As a single traveller, I enjoyed the atmosphere - classy but not too... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
