very nice but felt very cramped in the room and bathroom. There was virtually no storage for our stuff exempt a tiny closet behind the door. But,staff was accommodating and restaurant Grape and Vine a pleasant surprise. Convenient to everything!

Dear Ndprusky, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with the Trip Advisor community. Your kind words about our staff, restaurant and location are very much appreciated. We too understand that rooms in New York City tend to be on the smaller side and apologize that we failed to meet your expectations here. Please know that we do have... More

I loved staying at this little gem of a hotel between Greenwich Village and Union Square. The location is lovely, especially if one desires a quiet neighborhood away from the crowds and noise of midtown Manhattan. I could walk everywhere and Metro stops were close by. The hotel styling is sleek - definitely a boutique style. The staff was all... More

We stayed at the Jade for five nights in early July and found the hotel and its location perfect for us. We stayed in a Barrow Queen room, which was quiet and good sized, and made frequent use of the hotel’s restaurant, the Grape and Vine, for breakfasts and a late dinner. Both the food and the service were excellent.... More

Great hotel - friendly staff, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, strong showers, cute restaurant, and excellent location. And the bagel place on the corner is a convenient and delicious way to start the morning. Stayed for a week and was very pleased. I'll be back.

Nestled in the quaint residential area of Greenwich Village, but so close to shopping, great restaurants, and small theatres, The Jade Hotel offered us pleasant accommodations, fabulous food, and a super attentive staff! We would never stay anywhere else in New York City, as it is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. You are... More

Stayed at The Jade for the first time last night: LOVED it! Had a brief stay - 11 hours in and out - but will definitely be back. What I loved: > Cannot beat the location in the Village. > Staff was awesome, from front desk to restaurant server to bartender. > Very late meal at Grape & Vine -... More

We have stayed at The Jade Hotel several times and we love it more each time. We originally chose the hotel for it's Greenwich Village location (which is perfect!) but we quickly discovered the hotel itself is very nice with a wonderful vibe. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little small but the amenities and... More

Lovely boutique hotel with quirky art deco room. The room is a bit small but it's New York City folks - why are you in your room other than to sleep and shower! 50 yards from the corner of 6th Ave with lots of bars and eateries nearby (Murray's Bagels just round the corner is amazing) and the rest of... What a cute hotel, with such tasteful appointments (loved the rotary phones and deco lamps). The staff was attentive and cool, without being too cool! Yes the rooms are tiny, yet who goes to Greenwich Village to stay in their hotel all day? Not us, though we loved having cocktails in the downstairs lobby, where the eclectic playlist would have... It is against my better judgment to write this review since I don't want everyone to learn about this amazing hotel. As someone who travels to NYC several times a year, I keep looking for the right hotel. I like boutique hotels for that unique style. I also try to avoid the boutique hotels that cater to the young, party... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
